this was a cute little place to stay, it was clean and the grounds were well kept. The room was small and so was the bathroom but the bed was comfortable. No air con but thee was a fan, however it wasn't really warm enough to use it. It was a fairly quiet motel which was surprising because it was... More

This is a little hotel off Lincoln in Santa Monica. Any hotel in Santa Monica can be pretty pricey but the Rest Haven is very affordable and for the age of the hotel the rooms are very nice. The rooms are all updated with wood floors and flat screen T.Vs. Much nicer inside than you would think. Hotel staff is... More

This place is not what one would initially think. It's a bit older; yet, it's cleanliness and great staff outweigh its lack of updates. It seems as if this is an older 2-story bldg, within a neighborhood converted into a quaint motel which makes you feel as if you're a resident of Santa Monica vs. being a visitor. The best... More

Great price, clean rooms. It was the most affordable place we could find close to The 3rd St. Promenade and The Santa Monica Pier. A very nice young boy checked us in. He told us where to park and escorted us to our room. Our room was nice. I liked it better because it was behind a locked gate. The... More

Thank you for the nice review. For info, the young boy is the son of the front desk clerk and just helping her out, for him it is always a pleasure to talk with different people from all walks of life because he`s a smart kid and is curious about everything. Hope you had a good time in Santa Monica.... More

Fantastic staff, secure rooms, close to Santa Monica beach and shopping and shops/ fast food if you want it close by. It takes about 15 minutes to walk in a straight line to the beach, very simple. We had never been to LA before but in this location found it easy to get anywhere we wanted to. Seriously consider this... More

I was looking for an affordable and conveniently located room for my familly (2 adults, 2 children) in Santa Monica. The Rest Haven motel is very easy to locate, is close to dining places and conveniently located in Santa Monica (not far from beach and highways). We also had a room with separted beds for our children, which was appreciated... More

Amazing, friendly owner, very clean, very comfortable. Great location and I didn't find the area unfriendly at all. Great price! However, unfortunately our safe was broken which left us worried about money etc. Also, although I told the owner I was arriving late and she saved a space for us, she still charged my card I had gaurenteed the booking... Price, and lack of other options, drove me to book this place. It being Labor Day weekend, the prime locations were already full. It is reasonably priced and decent value for your money. The location is not the best - situated behind a Jack in the Box with a bit of car traffic. Rooms are clean but sparingly decorated. The... More

This motel, with its classic neon sign, is very much in keeping with the by-gone era of roadside motels sadly dwindling from the american landscape. Our room was simple, clean, and comfortable. The motel has a lovely, private patio area to enjoy the outdoors. The owner is a generous and attentive person. It's obvious that this property is a labor... More

I booked this motel after reading reviews on trip advisor. We were looking for an inexpensive option in Santa Monica for 2 adults and a teenager. We arrived at about 2pm and booked in at the little booking in window-we were allocated room number 4 on the front of the hotel. The room was split into a main and smaller... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
