Great location, comfortable bed, the motel is a lovely place to stop for a night or to explore Santa Monica. The decor is sweet, customer service very good, an easy drive to the beach or a wandering walk. If you're a budgeted traveler - this place is great.

The location is fantastic. Close to the beech and a good price. The rooms were very clean, though quite cosy. The bed was comfortable, though pretty small. The family who run it are such sweethearts. Very welcoming, and it was the only place on our five week trip who let us choose our room! We loved that she allowed us... More

Perfectly nice motel, a 15-20 minute walk from Santa Monica. Very friendly staff and clean rooms. There is a Jack-in the-box and a pub just outside (could be a bit noisy), so ask for a room in the back-yard.

A young man efficiently checked us in. The room was clean, it had wi-fi, cable and a parking spot for our car. It is in a good location and for Santa Monica the price is ok. The only bad thing is the homeless lady sleeping on the tree roots outside of the hotel. Very sad.

Spent the last night of our roadtrip here. The room is small and it wasn't perfectly clean, however it's ok for a one night stay. There's private parking for guests, which is good. It is very well located, right on Lincoln blvd, with easy access to Venice and Santa Monica. Close to LAX.

Thank you for your feedback and comments. Yes, the motel is basic, small and old. Have a great day! More

Stayed in this cute 60's style classic American motel for 7 x nights. Good location, can walk to Santa Monica or Venice Beach. A bit worn out however low rates reflect this. Very clean and functional though. WiFi and good shower pressure. My room had no air conditioning which I didn't mind, ceiling and 2 x floor fans supplied which... More

I recently stayed at rest haven motel for two nights. It was my first time in Santa Monica/Los Angeles and I wasn't sure what to expect. I found the motel extremely overpriced for what you get. The service was good, we arrived early and we were able to check into our room at 9am which was appreciated after an early... More

My husband and I have just stayed here for one night before road tripping. Pros- clean rooms, comfortable beds, free parking, free wifi, central to beach, food etc. Cons- questionable area (homeless people outside room), noisy (fast food speaker box right outside our window). Overall, it was an okay stay for one night.

Inexpensive, clean, comfortable older motel just off Hwy 1. We had a quiet room off the private rear courtyard. Just minutes from the beach, Santa Monica Pier, Promenade, etc. Unfortunately, we were sharing the area with several homeless people, including a guy camped-out at night in the Jack-In-The-Box parking lot next door, and a group of men passing around a... Stayed here for one night so we could be picked up early the following day for our bus tour. 4 of us shared a room and it was a tight fit but manageable. The bathroom was tiny and the sound from the taco stand was a little distracting. It was about 20-30 minute walk to Santa Monica pier and not... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
