I recently stayed at rest haven motel for two nights. It was my first time in Santa Monica/Los Angeles and I wasn't sure what to expect. I found the motel extremely overpriced for what you get. The service was good, we arrived early and we were able to check into our room at 9am which was appreciated after an early... More

My husband and I have just stayed here for one night before road tripping. Pros- clean rooms, comfortable beds, free parking, free wifi, central to beach, food etc. Cons- questionable area (homeless people outside room), noisy (fast food speaker box right outside our window). Overall, it was an okay stay for one night.

Inexpensive, clean, comfortable older motel just off Hwy 1. We had a quiet room off the private rear courtyard. Just minutes from the beach, Santa Monica Pier, Promenade, etc. Unfortunately, we were sharing the area with several homeless people, including a guy camped-out at night in the Jack-In-The-Box parking lot next door, and a group of men passing around a... Stayed here for one night so we could be picked up early the following day for our bus tour. 4 of us shared a room and it was a tight fit but manageable. The bathroom was tiny and the sound from the taco stand was a little distracting. It was about 20-30 minute walk to Santa Monica pier and not... More

We were completing Route 66 so wanted to find something close to the pier and downtown. Santa Monica generally is expensive so we picked this place on price. Whilst pretty basic it has everything you need a comfy bed good TV and is a 15 minute walk into Santa Monica. We are glad we chose it and it made a... More

Stayed with my girlfriend just for one night but it was like being in a bad film. Outside the motel it seemed like a homeless people convention was taking place in there. On the room next door there was this guy that seemed extremely drunk and depressed who sang sad love songs until finally falling asleep around 4am. On the... More

There were 4 of us staying in this motel for one night and we were very pleased. The place was nice and clean with a very good location in Santa Monica. Close to the place are shops and nice places to eat. The owner who accomodated us was very nice and friendy and gave us some suggestions where to go... More

We enjoyed our stay here however it is extremely noisy. There are a lot of hobos that hang around this area and the Jack in the Box drive in is just across the parking lot. I don't think I would stay here again but we really did enjoy our stay. It was a great American motel experience. I would however... More

Perfect for a one night road trip stop off. Everything you need to get some rest and move on. The decor is dated but that doesn't matter when the shower is hot and the bed is comfortable. It would have been nice to have tea and coffee making facilities but there were a couple of shops close by to buy... More

this was a cute little place to stay, it was clean and the grounds were well kept. The room was small and so was the bathroom but the bed was comfortable. No air con but thee was a fan, however it wasn't really warm enough to use it. It was a fairly quiet motel which was surprising because it was... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
