Stayed here for one night so we could be picked up early the following day for our bus tour. 4 of us shared a room and it was a tight fit but manageable. The bathroom was tiny and the sound from the taco stand was a little distracting. It was about 20-30 minute walk to Santa Monica pier and not... More

We were completing Route 66 so wanted to find something close to the pier and downtown. Santa Monica generally is expensive so we picked this place on price. Whilst pretty basic it has everything you need a comfy bed good TV and is a 15 minute walk into Santa Monica. We are glad we chose it and it made a... More

Stayed with my girlfriend just for one night but it was like being in a bad film. Outside the motel it seemed like a homeless people convention was taking place in there. On the room next door there was this guy that seemed extremely drunk and depressed who sang sad love songs until finally falling asleep around 4am. On the... More

There were 4 of us staying in this motel for one night and we were very pleased. The place was nice and clean with a very good location in Santa Monica. Close to the place are shops and nice places to eat. The owner who accomodated us was very nice and friendy and gave us some suggestions where to go... More

We enjoyed our stay here however it is extremely noisy. There are a lot of hobos that hang around this area and the Jack in the Box drive in is just across the parking lot. I don't think I would stay here again but we really did enjoy our stay. It was a great American motel experience. I would however... More

Perfect for a one night road trip stop off. Everything you need to get some rest and move on. The decor is dated but that doesn't matter when the shower is hot and the bed is comfortable. It would have been nice to have tea and coffee making facilities but there were a couple of shops close by to buy... More

this was a cute little place to stay, it was clean and the grounds were well kept. The room was small and so was the bathroom but the bed was comfortable. No air con but thee was a fan, however it wasn't really warm enough to use it. It was a fairly quiet motel which was surprising because it was... More

This is a little hotel off Lincoln in Santa Monica. Any hotel in Santa Monica can be pretty pricey but the Rest Haven is very affordable and for the age of the hotel the rooms are very nice. The rooms are all updated with wood floors and flat screen T.Vs. Much nicer inside than you would think. Hotel staff is... More

This place is not what one would initially think. It's a bit older; yet, it's cleanliness and great staff outweigh its lack of updates. It seems as if this is an older 2-story bldg, within a neighborhood converted into a quaint motel which makes you feel as if you're a resident of Santa Monica vs. being a visitor. The best... More

Great price, clean rooms. It was the most affordable place we could find close to The 3rd St. Promenade and The Santa Monica Pier. A very nice young boy checked us in. He told us where to park and escorted us to our room. Our room was nice. I liked it better because it was behind a locked gate. The... More

Thank you for the nice review. For info, the young boy is the son of the front desk clerk and just helping her out, for him it is always a pleasure to talk with different people from all walks of life because he`s a smart kid and is curious about everything. Hope you had a good time in Santa Monica.... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
