4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We stayed for four nights in August and had a great time here. It's a high quality, low key hotel with very good service. The one bed Lanai suites are perfect for families, lots of space, big bathroom and a chess/games table which the children enjoyed. The pool is nice, though the sun tends to hit on one side which... This is the second time we have stayed at the Oceana, now our favorite hotel in the Santa Monica area, across from the beach, and an easy walk to the 4th St. Promenade. Our room was spacious, beautifully appointed, and quiet, even though it is on Ocean Avenue. There are only minor drawbacks: although there is an umbrella and valet... More

Everything about this hotel is perfect for me. It is a total home away from home! This was my third time staying here. I should have written them a review the first time AND the second time because each and every stay was flawless. This is a five star boutique hotel that feels like an apartment hotel. I had a... Everything was great. Like 5 star hotel! Except for the parking price $39 per night plus tax... That we thought it was too much as the hotel has own garage. But we managed to park our car on the street behind the hotel!

I wish we could live here!!! Oceans was recommended by a travel agent and its spot on. Unlike most other hotel options in Santa Monica, oceana is small, cozy and personal. I think only 3 stories high. The other are massive glass boxes. This actually has character and charm. We had a HUGE room. Really wasn't expecting it to be... More

Nice hotel, steep stairs to beach so families with smaller children may want to concider this. The pool is small, rooms slightly dated but a good size and are clean, The staff excellent and very helpful. Walking distance to an excellent b'fast place and sea food restaurant which is perfect for lunch or dinner.

Great hotel. Staff is very nice and helpful without being pushy. The room is VERY spacious and beautifully appointed. Easy walk to tons of restaurants and activities. Not necessarily a "family hotel", but very family friendly. My son asked if we could move in permanently!

My only regret is booking this hotel as a stop over after driving from vegas!!!! I wish we had longer to stay here! On arrival we were given a chilled glass of prosecco each and our bags taken to our huge poolside room. It was beautiful!! the décor was lovely, the bathroom was lovely, huge and offered complimentary toiletries. The... More

Location location location! In Santa Monica just above the beach. A pool that most rooms look onto. Great breakfast, and rooms that are very spacious. Just don't rely on a good night sleep if you use the sofa bed. Those need replacing. But everything else was good. The fitness center is a bit sparse and running machines are not great,... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
