I just spent two nights at the Oceana Beach Club Hotel in Santa Monica, for a family wedding in the area. This is a terrific boutique hotel - spacious, well appointed guest rooms and suites; I had an oversized King bedroom, which included a large bedroom, a wide hallway with double door lighted closet (safe, 3 drawer chest, hangers, ironing... We stayed at this hotel for one night to celebrate our engagement. Everyone we encountered was kind and welcoming from the moment we pulled up to the valet, to our departure time. We had a great suite with an ocean/Ocean Blvd. view. Traffic does get a little bit loud, but being a local, it's something I had expected. We had... More

I have just returned from the Oceana with my husband and 3 kids, and we loved this place. It has a friendly boutique vibe with small heated pool (that the kids got great use of ) in the centre of the hotel. The pool provided pool towels and you could bring them to the beach. It also has a gym... More

we really like this charming hotel...you feel like at home as it is a small one but with nice and big bedrooms and a very good breakfast; a pity that our room was quite dark with a view on a parking but overall a good experience with a very friendly staff. you have a 10 mns walk to go go... More

We stayed 12 days w/2 kids.. The room is too large and comportable.. Ideal with the kids. Parking is 39 $ per day.. Recommend to park across the street (parking lot) Breakfast is too expensive for what they have. When I want bread, the guy told me kitchen is too busy; when they have a chance they will cut and... Dear Duygu, Thank you so much for staying with us! I am so sorry you experienced these missteps during your stay and I would like to clarify on a few items to put you more at ease. In regards to the housekeeping, they do need to place the dirty linen on the floor while they are replacing it with fresh... More

I live in the area and wasn't looking for a hotel room, but rather the restaurant, which I've seen when driving by. The valet told us he thought it was only open for hotel guests, which sounds a bit peculiar, so we thought we'd ask in the lobby. Woman behind the desk never got off the phone or acknowledged our... Dear Martha, I am so sorry for the lack of attention and acknowledgement that was given when you and your husband visited the hotel. This is very concerning to me as each and every guest deserves a warm welcome, something I will address with my entire front of house staff. In regards to the restaurant, unfortunately the valet was correct... More

When you add up all the taxes and fees, valet parking, etc., you are paying $400+ per night just to be on Ocean Avenue. The question is whether it's worth it. No room has an unobstructed view of the ocean, there are trees in the way. Room service is punctual but they can't seem to get your order right (day... More

We spent 4 days at the OBCH. A very Melrose Place and Instagram photo opportunity property. You can walk to 3rd street promenade but it’s a little further than you would think. Decor was great but needs to be refreshed with parts of it worn out. The Great Bits: the vibe of the place, staff, valet. The Good Bits: restaurant/bar,... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
