this is absolutely my new favorite hotel to stay at when at the beach, santa monica. First of all - thank you for the unexpected upgrade - with the Ocean View. stunning. The rooms are well appointed, comfortable. I love the decor, just perfect. My room was very quiet. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I can't wait to... More

Hotel is truly lovely, small boutique style, great attention to decor, rooms match the price, lively and spacious. Breakfast buffet is too expensive I would have preferred menu choices. we were in room 316 and next doors plumbing on bedroom side was very noisy, especially if you eere trying for a lay in. my wife still reckons it us the... Just imagine how disappointing it would be staying in a hotel where the ladies in receiption are neither friendly nor helpful. Our advice is you read carefully their confirmation, room details were not on it in our case. We booked ocean view upgrade option but by check-in we were told they are sold out.

It feels just like home with a very spacious room. It is situated near to the beach with walking distance of Santa Monica Pier and shops The staff are so polite and friendly. Delicious breakfast but it is a bit pricey. Highly recommend to everyone and will definitely go back there again. The only thing to mention is that the... More

The Oceana is a traditional Santa Monica establishment, wide windows to the sidewalk, four-square balconied rooms around a central pool, bright, modern decor and furnishings and all perfectly lovely. The welcome one receives at the reception desk seems genuinely warm and friendly as indeed are all the staff. During my visit I was given very helpful office type support in... More

Stayed here with my partner and my daughter in a one bedroomed kitchenette suite overlooking the courtyard swimming pool. We found this a very comfortable room, extremely large and well equipped. It was a lovely atmosphere around the pool and a great place in the evening, very tranquil. The food in the restaurant in the evening was extremely nice and... More

We staid at the Oceana for four nights in a corner suite with a very large living room area. The decor is laid back with homely touches and all rooms open out onto the nice central pool which gives the place a classic motel vibe in a good way. Pros The location is excellent for Santa Monica shops and restaurants... More

This wasnt our first time at the Oceana and it certainly wont be our last. The bedrooms are perfection and feel like a home from home. The toiletries are from C Bigelow and are amazing. The bed is by far one of the comfiest I have slept in and is HUGE. We try to always stay in the rooms with... More

I stayed here about 11 or 12 years ago and I loved it. As a matter of fact, I took pictures and they remain in a photo album I have to this day! Needless to say I was excited to stay here again when I had the opportunity. Since my stay over a decade ago, I believe there is new... More

My family stayed here at the recommendation of a friend for three nights. The hotel is perfectly located towards the north end of the beach - out of the hustle and bustle next to the pier but still within walking distance of everything we wanted to stay. Rooms were very big and very clean.

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
