Our 1 night stay at the Pacific Sands was not near as bad as some of the reviews posted here. I stayed last night. Well, actually I didn't stay. I just paid and didn't get a refund after I was put in two different rooms that had so many bedbugs, that they were sitting on the bedside table in one room, and under the sheets in another. No refund!!! more

The only good thing was the position, exactly on the ocean drive, a couple of blocks to the Santa Monica Pier and the sea and just two blocks from the Third Promenade, and the wifi fast and free. spent 10-17th July 2009 in this motel on the santa monica seafront. location absolutely brillinat - 100 yards from the beach. Room was fine and TV worked (as did the remote). Staff were a joy to chat to and very helpful - something that is essential for travellers visiting Santa Monica. Right beside all the public transport. Cannot praise this... more

Wish I'd read thru all the previous reviews before booking here. Had reservation for non-smoking room. Was given smoke-stinky room in "annex" across the alley from main motel.
