Me & my wife stayed here for a week. We found the motel with no problems at all, just get the free airport bus to the LAX tranportation hub & catch the Big Blue Bus No3 from stop 12 ($1 fare each) & just under an hour later get off at the corners of Pico & Lincoln Blvd's & you'll... More

I give this property a high rating for the value, rather than the quality. I've stayed in Santa Monica a few times and always paid the high price to be near the beach. I went the cheaper option this time and stayed at the Santa Monica Motel. It's a 15 minute (easy) walk to the beach and probably another 10... More

We stayed one night at this motel in the summer of 2013. The room was clean and quite comfortable, although it was a bit small. We were sleeping 4 people in about 10m^2 in two double beds. Upside: Quite close to the beach, and the distance is walkable.

Santa Monica has small rooms, but the beds were comfortable, room was always clean and the bathroom did its job. Customer service was fantastic. They booked our tours for us and were there 24 hours a day and were more then happy to help whenever we asked! Would recommend motel based on service! Location was good for us because it... More

Room was basic and clean. In our room only 1 plug worked. They have us 10$ off for that. We took the room after viewing it first which is a must in Santa Monica. Bed was ok pillows a bit flat. Room was warm but there was a ceiling fan and a electric fan we had on when we didn't... More

The hotel is fine and has been renovated however it is in a bit of a sketchy location. The main downside is the location. It is a bit far to easily walk (with kids) to the Santa Monica pier but there is a bus that you can take. Though there is nothing really wrong with the hotel other than it... More

This place is party central .Least on the weekends. I got up one night and banged on the MGR door at 2:30 am cause of the noise. Quieted down for about an hour. Street noise never bothered me however you are on a main drag with a biker bar almost across the street.. They never cleaned the room or took... More

We stayed here for one night and it was a bit of a nightmare. There were loads of people right outside making loads of noise and revving motorbikes all through the night which was a pain after landing at LAX after a long flight and jet lag. It was really hot the night we stayed and no aircon. Saw a... More

The motel is right next to a busy street, and therefore very noisy. Some noisy guests don't help ether. When I asked to move to another room I was refused as available rooms had 2 bets while I paid for 1 bed room – with the difference only 2 dollars! Service is kind, but not very helpful, when I asked... More

I've traveled for my company quite a bit and have had accomodations prescheduled through my office never knowing what to expect on arrival. I usually don't bother to take the time to share my experiences however I decided to make an exception for Santa Monica Motel. Upon arrival my very first visit I was greeted by as very friendly Staff... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
