From the moment we walked in we new we had found a great place to stay. Time was taken to introduce us to the area. They offer beach stuff. We were even able to sign up for an LA tour. We really felt welcomed. We spent three nights and enjoyed it. Just a short walk from the beach and having... More

I have stayed here several times over the years and it is perfect for the beach and Santa Monica. Reasonable price. Clean and good sized rooms with coffee and fridge. On Main Street so buses all over and plenty bars and restaurants to keep you busy. A gem

We stayed in an upstairs room near the back, as recommended by several reviewers, and with the "airplane windows" it was very quiet. The motel is not fancy but it is pleasant and well kept. We requested a coffeepot and microwave and received them right away. We had an issue with our refrigerator and the staff did their best to... More

The thing that made this little motel stand out is the staff. You feel like you're getting personal service from them because they're so accommodating and friendly. It's also a cute, well-maintained small motel, and I like that feel. They told us that they have the same maids that they've had for 25 years. That tells you something. It's also... More

We stayed there for one night while while visiting Santa Monica. Its right on the main street in town with several restaurants and shops nearby. Its a couple block walk to the pier. The price was very reasonable compared to other hotels in area. The room was large, clean, beds comfy and AC cold. Free parking was nice. The area... More

What you see is what you get. A small 'old school' Motel complex right in the middle of one of the most fashionable areas in Los Angeles. It has not been updated in any real way (ie, my 'snobby' wife hated it - initially) but is clean, sufficiently roomy and the staff are personable and helpful. There is some street... More

What a great find. Friendly staff, excellent location, one block from beach and about ten minute walk to Santa Monica Pier. Rooms were clean and comfortable with everything you could need. Staff were freindly and helpful, even lending us chairs and parasols for the beach. If we ever come back to LA this will be where we stay.

Quiet is the word. It has double windows, plus wooden shutters, keeps out the noise. I'm talking double windows, two, not just double pane glass, but two layers of windows. Someone complained about the noise, I looked and they had left one set of windows open. The rooms are equivalent to Motel 6 in size, but four times as expensive.... More

Love this place, a bit pricey but the staff is great and the location even better! Loved Tom at the front desk, such a nice guy. They loaned us beach stuff for a day which was also a big plus. would recommend.

We stayed at the Sea Shore Motel for 2 nights at the end of June. This is a family owned and operated motor court style of motel. Check in was fast and easy and very welcoming. The room we had was clean and comfortable, had a fridge and microwave and windows that opened for fresh air - Really NIce!! Bonus... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
