Perfect location right on the boardwalk, great Hamptons style cosy decor and very good service and staff. We stayed 2 nights as a stop over and were very impressed. On arrival our deluxe ocean room that I booked was not available and the staff very quickly corrected the mistake by upgrading us to a suite at the front section of... More

Spent a Long week. Pity my room view was half of a wall and the other half the pool. Very Expensive Hotel for such pocket size Rooms but I had a Great time. The One Pico Restaurant is Wonderful to have a Long Lunch and the Breakfast Cafe offers great dishes. The Staff are for most very arrogant, but thats... More

First time here, but I have stayed at other hotels in Santa Monica and LA (Beverly Hills). Perfect location on the beach (no road - just straight on to the beach). Large rooms with a nice bathroom and a super high bed (there is a small step ladder in the wardrobe for the vertically challenged!). Two things set this hotel... More

We have been to this hotel several times. We always enjoy our time here. This time was very nice but the restaurant was being remodeled. We always enjoy one night eating at Pico One so we were disappointed. Of course, there are so many wonderful restaurants in the area that we had fabulous meals each night. We love having a... More

I had stayed here as a corporate traveler and enjoyed it, came back 15 years later, older, with a family and different interests. It didn't disappoint. Beautiful, quiet, spacious rooms, lovely pool and decks and great location for families as you're right on the beach... No other hotel is. There's a fabulous bike path where you can bike or stroll... The decor at Shutters is my taste to a T, think "Town & Country: Coastal Style", so much attention to detail whilst retaining a relaxed atmosphere. The rooms are well appointed but I have to say for someone who is 5'3" I almost needed a ladder to get into their impossibly high, but very comfortable, beds - how do the... More

We recently visited Shutters while on a family break to So. Cal. The external setting, right down to the hydrangea and the staff dressed in their vineyard vines clothing, makes you feel like you are on Nantucket Island. We really enjoy the location of this hotel, right on the beach and easy access to all of Santa Monica. The staff... More

I heard so much about shutters and I was expecting an experience. My Niçoise tuna salad and the hamburger were average for the price. moreover service was poor or staff is inexperienced and need training for such location.

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
