Hotel and grounds are beautiful. Room clean and comfortable. Pool and Spa seemed to be very well maintained. We enjoyed the Spa Tub, but Pool too cold. A few negatives, but we didn't let them affect our score. Hotel.com lists under room information-room details that room has a balcony. It does not. When we asked about this, we were told... More

This was a fun stop for 2 nights. The Inn provided information for wine tastings that was so amazing. The rooms were super clean, well stocked in the bath, large on the newer side with comfortable beds. A lot of charm and character with history also added in made this an interesting place to visit. The wine cellar had comfortable... More

The reviews titled "One Night Stay" and "Nice and clean" pretty much sum up my reviews of the room. I was on floor 5 in the "new" tower overlooking the front entry. It was very quiet. I like old buildings, that's why we chose this one. Parts (bar and dining rooms) are almost 100 years old. But not the room... More

Really great staff, very accommodating. Breakfast was good, room was clean and comfortable but as with most of the reviews here, the decoration needs updating, lots of chips in paint work etc. I did overhear they were redoing some ofbthe rooms. I personally would stay here again. Had a great night sleep :-)

We stayed a night in the tower and found it very comfortable. The rooms are large and our room was very clean. The room came with two queen beds as well as a large window with a padded bench seat. The water pressure was good and the beds were firm. The interior of the hotel was clean, but older and... More

We stayed for one night, on our way to Hearst Ranch. It seemed like a cute place but staying in the old section was very noisy. Heard everything from hallway & upstairs throughout the night. I did let the desk know but hotel was filled so they blamed it on that. Might try staying in the newer tower if in... More

I recently attended an event at SMI in the Polo Room 8p.m.Wednesday August 28, 2014. The air conditioning in this room was sorely lacking and made it harder to fully enjoy the event. A Staff response was well did you let the hotel know. I did not but the host said they did and based on my experience there was... More

I spent 10 days in the Santa Maria Inn while my house was being redone. I was under medical care so was placed in the tower in a disabled room. First the lock on the door would not open. Then the security bar on the door broke and we were stuck in the hallway until maintenance came to fix it.... More

I have many fond memories of the Inn, but on my last trip in August of 2014 I had the misfortune of staying in the Historic Inn section. What we had were halls that were reminiscent of The Shining, a room where the door didn't seal closed properly and rattled, chipped paint in the bathroom, and old dirty paint in... More

I have been staying at this hotel for a consecutive number of nights per stay, for the last 4 years. I have been consistently watching it slip from a lovely historical semi- luxury hotel to a tired, old and somewhat dirty establishment. The front desk staff remains friendly and helpful but much of the rest of the staff lacks a service... More
