Traveling up and down the Central Coast of California is beautiful if you're a beach lover and enjoy good wine. The Santa Maria Inn has a charm, history, comfort and exellent service-hard to beat! The service is good, the food is great and I highly recommend this once-upon-a-time Stage Coach stop to any and all travelers looking for all of... more

The moment we checked in to the historic Santa Maria Inn we were welcomed by its staff and homey ambience. Our suite was roomy and elegant. Its tasteful decor, beautiful furniture, lovely gas fireplace, and well-equipped kitchen made us want to never leave. The bed was more comfortable than ours at home. This hotel has service perfected; everyone was friendly... more

For anyone who wants to tour the Central Coast Wineries, this is the best hotel in the area. It's an historic building with both a new and old wing. The new wing offers modern features and the Historic wing offers the charm of the 20's and 30's. There are several restaurants within walking distance and of course, famous Santa Maria... more

We stayed one night enroute to Los Angeles. Check-in was quick and pleasant. The lobby decorated elegantly retro. We were given a wonderful room - the Joan Fontaine - a quiet corner room on the second floor of the older section facing the street. It was chilly but the heater warmed up the room quickly. The bed was very comfortable... more

During a recent tour of the National Parks we stayed at the Santa Maria Inn. After returning to Holland we missed our cellphone but did not know where we had lost it. Then our travel agent in Holland called us, they had received a mail from the tour operator in the US, Allied-t-pro, reporting that our phone had been found... more

Once we saw the hotel "in person", I would not have stayed here with my friends, but we had nowhere else to stay. It smelled terrible all over and it was old but not kept-up. more

Old place....nothing special...bad smells....lack of service orientation. Why bother? But where else can you stay in Santa Maria? The Radisson? Maybe a better bet, but pet unfriendly. more

Hotel was neat and clean, and very old. It was definetely haunted with old spirits. If you like that sort of thing, by all means plan a trip here! I personally would not stay there again. I had nightmares, and slept poorly. There were alot of unidentified creaks and noises throughout the night. The staff was very friendly and polite,... more

For a character hotel, it was fine.We had reserved a room in the historic part, but were upgraded without our knowing to the tower in two corner suites. Now that we inspected the 'historic' part, there is not any chance we would have reserved that part. The rooms there are small, but well decorated. The part I would have hated are the depressing... more
