Nice location for a hotel away from the of the beach boardwalk but close enough to be at the ocean in minutes. The room was nice but could use updating. Restaurant and bar were both above average. The staff was very friendly, professional and took care of all our needs. Pet friendly. I don't like the resort fees but I... More

My husband and I booked the "forestview" with a patio. It was on the opposite side of the pool, which meant it was so quiet and relaxing. The room was clean and the bed and pillows were so comfortable I slept through the first night until the last without interruption. We forgot that it was Father's Day the Sunday we... More

Girls Weekend at this resort. We wish we had stayed longer to enjoy the hotel's full amenities. Regarding the room, we stayed in a basic room near the buildings of the check-in area. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. There is an outside sink area, which helped with our group. The building we were in... More

Chaminade is a nice, clean resort with beautiful view and friendly staff. It was such a nice relaxing stay for us visiting from Virginia. Absolutely loved this place and would highly recommend it to everyone.

The resort grounds are amazing, and the patio deck that the restaurant has is breathtaking. I liked that the heated outdoor pool was open until 11pm. The room was spacious and very clean. I enjoyed the very comfortable bed and the soft and luxurious bedding made sleeping in a breeze. I suggest that you bring hiking shoes and the camera,... More

I guess you could call it a bit old school or a bit dated. It is not the swank luxury accommodations that luxury travelers will be accustomed to or the price would indicate. It felt a bit more like a 1950s resort. That said, it was spacious and friendly. The staff was great. We were there with other families and... More

Dear Cisco, Thank you for the great comments on the staff and location. You are correct, Memorial Day Weekend was not time the visit Chaminade for a quiet romantic weekend, but there again, not many resorts in Santa Cruz are. We were delighted to host your tournament teams-I hope the boys had a great weekend. Travel Tip for quiet “staycations”... More

My bf and I were going to be in Santa Cruz for the Memorial Day weekend and the Chaminade kept showing up in my side bar when I was finding that most other places were full. That should have been a sign that it would not be the best weekend to head up to Santa Cruz... :O I will start... More

Just Kidding - but if you like the way the hotel in The Shining was decorated, you're going to love this place. It's cool in theory - just not in actuality. This hotel is ridiculously overpriced for what you get and to be perfectly honest with you my room smelled stale and terrible. I regret staying here.

QUALIFIER: We have stayed at many 4 star hotels using 4-star plus ratings to ensure a decent mattress. SUMMARY: This is the WORST supposed 4-star hotel we have experienced. We have paid 80 dollars for a Motel 8 (the layout of rooms is literally like a motel 8! think about the bad acoustics of this) and had better sleeping experiences.... More

I bid on a 4-star hotel through priceline and was booked in with Chaminade. The cost was $177.72 per night + 'the ridiculous' $30 resort fee (this was for a Saturday night over Easter weekend). We were put into a 2nd floor room, facing the pool. The room we received was a room that was separated by a door that... More
