I have stayed at this hotel every year for the last 15 years. Breakfast has always been great. This year, the milk was low, and orange juice was empty. I had to go to the front desk to have this remedied. Also, the supply of packaged sweet rolls was not kept at a high enough level, so choices were limited.... More

When you're turned off the minute you walk into a room, everything begins to creep you out. For whatever reason, we had a handicapped room. Walked in to see a pedestal sink--in the room--with about six square inches to put anything, you could barely set a tube of toothpaste there. The room was dated and loud. Bathroom included a roll-in... More

I stayed in Santa Cruz for two nights in different hotels. Both were classified as TWO Stars and both close to each other, in walking distance from the beach and the Boardwalk. The 'HOJO' was much better in every aspect! In addition, I was getting a better price there - Was I just lucky to get the last room?? NO... More

Stayed in Santa Cruz for one night with my kids. Hojo's was the perfect place to stay. The rooms are small but clean and had a microwave and mini fridge. Breakfast was plentiful. It's on the wharf side of Santa Cruz which is great because it was not noisy at all. Hojo's is just a 4 minute walk to the... More

This hotel rides 100% on its proximity to the boardwalk. The value is just not there and the service is not just near-to-non-existent but almost a little bit insulting. The staff (mainly management staff) seems to be angry that you've come to stay with them and will rush you from the watered-down breakfast, occupy the best parking spots themselves (you... More

I've stayed here several times. The price is impossible to beat considering the location. I read a few of the reviews saying the front desk lady is rude. She's been very kind each time I've visited. Free Parking. Wifi works good. It's across the street from the wharf, and a few blocks from the boardwalk. It makes it easy with... More

We were lucky to get a room with a nice ocean view and a small, but nice balcony to enjoy the view. I'm sure not all the rooms there were so lucky The room that I had booked had 2 queen beds and a small seperate room withiin the room that was barely big enough for a double bed. This... More
