The Seaway Inn is perfectly adequate for those who are not ultra picky when it comes to their accommodations. The rooms are small but clean and cute. The location is the biggest selling point of this place. Its very close to the boardwalk (3 minute stroll). The one negative I would have to report on is the friendliness of one... More

There are many motels/hotels in the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk area. You really have to be careful if you have a family and want a safe location because there can be some really seedy areas in Santa Cruz. This motel was lovely. I went on a trip with a small Girl Scout troop and we needed a room that could... More

Thank you for your review! I apologize that you were not informed that two adults could not sleep on the futon, I do usually inform guests of that upon booking and suggest two small children would be better, so my apologies if that information did not get told to you. I was happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay,... More

This hotel is very cute! The location is excellent and the view is great. Comfy beds! The shared balcony area is so nice for relaxing and looking out at the ocean. Rooms are small but cozy. The complimentary breakfast is pretty good with waffle maker, cereals, juice, coffee, bagels and fruit. I would definitely stay here again.

I've stayed at the Seaway Inn twice before and everything was great. We usually stay downstairs in one of the corner rooms as there are two bedrooms but seeing as how it was spring break they were booked to full capacity. My mother and I stayed in one of the upstairs rooms with two beds and brought our kitty as... More

Thank you for your honest and straight forward review of our property. I was distressed to hear that you had such a bad experience with one of my staff, that you may consider going elsewhere on your next visit. I wish to assure you that rude behavior towards our guests is not a common practice of my staff, and not... More

This is a good place to stay in Santa Cruz. It is across the street and down a bit from the beach and a little further is the wharf with shops and restaurants and sea lions galore. Just a block down the other direction is West Cliff Drive where you can get your daily walk in with a wonderful view... More

Thanks for your review. I love to hear when guests appreciate our location, as I feel the same way. I was also happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us, other than the clerk interruption incident; I was very sorry to hear that you encountered a situation like that. We look forward to seeing you, on your next... More

This hotel surprised me.I expected less. The personnel is very gentle, friendly and helpful. The rooms are modest, but clean; clean bathrooms, also; good value (I paid for 3 nights the same money as for 1 night in San Francisco 4stars hotel); romantic common balcony with ocean view;all day tea and coffee available; excellent location - 5 min walking to the pier(many... Looked at and the reviews on trip advisor and other sites. I work in Santa Cruz 2 days a week and had a big event which put me at back to back days so I decided to stay the night. I wasn't sure what I really was getting but turned out to be great. Centrally located, friendly staff, clean room,... More

On a recent business trip I had to limit my hotel choices because of the high prices in Santa Cruz, among some of the highest in the country. This motel-style hotel, where all of the rooms open onto the parking lot, was a reasonable alternative. The bed was comfortable, the breakfast adequate, and we did have one free parking space,... Thank you for your review of our property. I was sorry to hear that you were uncomfortable, due to the cramped spaces of the room. I want to recognize the staff of the Seaway Inn. They are really great! The property is really clean, and in a nice location, but the staff really make you feel like a truly appreciated person not just a "hotel guest." Stephanie, the inn manager, makes a real effort to be a great leader. Robert and Hailey were also good... More

Santa Cruz lodging is pricey. We love the Seaway Inn for it's proximity to downtown, the wharf, the Boardwalk, Steamer Lane and Wast Cliff Drive - they're all walkable! Our suite would have slept 5 or 6; it was very large and comfortable. The breakfasts offer variety and the coffee's not bad. There's waffles and deluxe pastries on the weekends... More

Thank you for your review of our property. I am happy to hear that you enjoyed the accommodations. Unfortunately, you are correct about our parking situation, as we do have 4 less spots than guest rooms, but luckily, the Dream Inn does allow us to use their parking lot as overflow, when we fill up. We would love to see... More
