A holiday weekend family trip with my partner, parents, and brother+nephew lead us to Hotel Paradox. We got three different room types (Suite, 2 Queens, and King) and stayed two nights. -Staff: Friendly staff, check in and check out was easy, advice on local stuff was also easy. Restaurant folks were very patient with a 3 year old diner. They... More

I stumbled into traffic due to car accident, my husband and Miss Amanda A. at Hotel Paradox, convinced me to pursue my stay and that I would not regret it. They were right! I received a warm welcome at arrival with a free drink and room upgrade. Excellent and friendly service, Eco-friendly and clean, nice restaurant (loved my lemon calamari/mango... More

We enjoyed a lovely stay at the hotel Paradox as part of our road trip through California on honeymoon. Lovely modern hotel and the room was spacious, quirky and modern - we really loved it. On arrival we were offered a comp bottle of wine to celebrate our honeymoon which was a lovely touch. The pool bar / bar serves... More

Nice modern rooms, pool bar. Pleasant fun place. Rest-rant on site pricy but good. Very pleasant staff. Only negative is an extra 10 parking fee. Don't need this fee in this area. Walking distance to downtown. Hidden fee they should just add to price. Enjoyed our stay

Loved this vamped-up motel-cum hotel. It was modern and stylish and comfortable, with modern decor and comfy white beds. Got a good rate because my kids were at nearby UC Santa Cruz and was even given a free bottle of wine because of mistake they had made on my reservation. Conveniently located on Ocean St, 5-10 mins drive from the... More

The hotel is very convenietly located, simple, clean, good service. The pool is great , larger then usual for a hotel set up, so is the hot tub. Its walking distance to the downtown and a park. The restaurant is average , but they gave us a free breakfast and that the only meal we had there. They also have... More

Cannot compare it to other hotels in the area but to me its reasonably priced, clean rooms, friendly staff, close to whats happening in Santa Cruz and the restaurant does a lovely meal for a reasonable price too. The bar closes at 10 is the only fault I found.

It was a successful upscale renovation of a prior hotel I suspect, the room was very modern, the front desk area very nice. We were given a nice surprise of an apple cider champagne to commemorate our anniversary; nice to know they had a non-alcoholic beverage. They provided us with a fridge freezer which was nice as we had some... More

Hotel Paradox is a beautiful place. We were attending a wedding and the couple had selected this Hotel for their event center. The decor is sleek and beautifully appointed. Everything was clean, well kept. Staff was very professional and friendly. Close to a beautiful park that was bustling with music and great walking paths. Would recommend this to anyone wanting... We booked this as just a bed for the night, after spending the afternoon in Monterey, it's about an hour North up the coast and was SO much less expensive than the Monterey hotels. The rooms are very stylish with a great bathroom, fab shower, you get bathrobes and a big comfy bed and it was quiet (our room was... More
