Very fun hotel in theme and in comfort. We stayed for 2 nights while in Santa Cruz, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Beds were super comfy, and barn doors were cool on bathroom. Everything was immaculate, staff was very friendly. Kids loved the pool and we loved the pool bar. Would stay again.

This is a nice place to stay. The entire decor theme is truly a paradox. The online pictures seemed to indicate a very modern decor, but just walking into the lobby you see this huge natural fallen tree log as the front desk, but surrounded by modern sleek-lined book shelves, complete with real books but all with white bookcovers. What... More

I recently held a large meeting at the Hotel Paradox in Santa Cruz. The Hotel has been refurbished and the decor is brilliant! The front desk is the coolest front desk I have ever seen! The accommodations were excellent with a very comfortable bed. Our meeting of close to 200 people went outstanding thanks to the excellent customer service of... More

The hotel Paradox is an oddball hotel. I have stayed there numerous times. I only stay there because my client has a pricing contract with them. The hotel tries to be a spa/resort place but it's not. The rooms are quirky but comfortable enough. The front desk staff are friendly enough. The Solaire restaurant is a joke. It arrives to... More

We've stayed at this hotel many times and although the location is an easy walking-distance to downtown and the on-site restaurant is good, these benefits did not overcome the numerous problems we experienced this time. The service experienced at the hotel has declined over the past several visits. The check-in and check-out process is very inefficient and time-consuming because staff,... More

We stayed at the Hotel Paradox a couple of weeks ago and had a perfect experience. The check in was smooth and friendly and we were presented a good overview of the hotel and it's amenities. The room was spotless, well laid out. Bathroom as a decent size and enough room for toiletries which is often an issue. The bed... More

Hotel Paradox was exactly what we were looking for. Clean, modern design, nice layout throughout. the exercise room is nicer than our gym at home and the staff went above and beyond in every way, the front desk, restaurant, and housekeeping. Very friendly, happy to help, you can tell everyone likes working there. Swimming laps at 9pm and hottubbing and... More

My stay at the hotel disappointing to say the least. The food & beverage staff need serous training in hospitality. The night we checked in, the hotel created a mix up in our reservation so we were given vouchers for two free drinks. The next day at the pool while attempting to use them, the waitress curtly responded that she'd... More

Very disappointing room with a half-hearted hipster makeover and a hefty price tag. No amenities and no charm, but a lot of dirt and grime. Totally fooled by the hotel's advertising on Expedia but totally underwhelmed by the grim reality.

I offer my sincere apology for not meeting your expectations. While we recognize that the style of the hotel may not be to everyone's liking, there is simply no excuse for anything less than a spotlessly clean and comfortable room. I have shared your comments with our housekeeping team, as we take such comments very seriously, and take immediate action.... More

We were on a family trip driving from San Francisco to Los Angeles. It is hard to pick a good hotel most are old and " motel-like" at 5 star resort prices. This hotel is really nice an boutique-like.
