We stayed at the Hotel Paradox a couple of weeks ago and had a perfect experience. The check in was smooth and friendly and we were presented a good overview of the hotel and it's amenities. The room was spotless, well laid out. Bathroom as a decent size and enough room for toiletries which is often an issue. The bed... More

Hotel Paradox was exactly what we were looking for. Clean, modern design, nice layout throughout. the exercise room is nicer than our gym at home and the staff went above and beyond in every way, the front desk, restaurant, and housekeeping. Very friendly, happy to help, you can tell everyone likes working there. Swimming laps at 9pm and hottubbing and... More

My stay at the hotel disappointing to say the least. The food & beverage staff need serous training in hospitality. The night we checked in, the hotel created a mix up in our reservation so we were given vouchers for two free drinks. The next day at the pool while attempting to use them, the waitress curtly responded that she'd... More

Very disappointing room with a half-hearted hipster makeover and a hefty price tag. No amenities and no charm, but a lot of dirt and grime. Totally fooled by the hotel's advertising on Expedia but totally underwhelmed by the grim reality.

I offer my sincere apology for not meeting your expectations. While we recognize that the style of the hotel may not be to everyone's liking, there is simply no excuse for anything less than a spotlessly clean and comfortable room. I have shared your comments with our housekeeping team, as we take such comments very seriously, and take immediate action.... More

We were on a family trip driving from San Francisco to Los Angeles. It is hard to pick a good hotel most are old and " motel-like" at 5 star resort prices. This hotel is really nice an boutique-like. Clean, excellent themed decor. We saw lots of families enjoying amenities, we did not as we were only there for a... More

I'm so pleased that you selected our hotel while passing through Santa Cruz, and so very happy that you enjoyed the décor and amenities! I'm sorry that Santa Cruz offered less than you had hoped for. Very nice atmosphere, the attendants were great. I had no problems with the accommodation for my service animal. On site dining very good we had great service from Dan. Rooms were clean. Bed on the firm side ask for extra pillows. There's a $10/ day charge for parking your own car. ... otherwise good experience.

The hotel is beautiful with a woodsy type of feel. The first night we stayed in a very tiny 2 queen beds with 5 guests. The next night we were upgraded for free to a slightly bigger room with 2 queen beds. It was much more spacious and the bathroom was more updated. The first night we ordered room service... More

The room's were very comfortable and the hotel decor is very modern and cozy. the location is perfect (if you don't mind driving short distances). However, they do provide a shuttle to take you places. The restaurant in the hotel has great food and great service. Everyone was friendly. Overall great hotel. Will definitely come back.

I had an average experience at Hotel Paradox. The hotel was aesthetically pleasing, but not very comfortable. The bed was SUPER hard, there were people yelling and screaming outside at 2-3 AM, the hot tub was a warm tub at best, our room was RIGHT next to the elevator so the room was never quiet, and and the shower knob... The hotel has a lot to offer. It has a unique style, with a woodsy theme, including a giant log as the check-in desk. The restaurant and bar are very nice, with both indoor and poolside tables. The area around the pool is very nice. But there were definitely problems with my stay. I was attending a conference at the... More
