The staff is excellent. The motel is centrally located and easy to get around by bus too. It is near restaurants and stores. A Safeway is located within walking distance. The rooms are spacious and clean. The rooms have privacy. The front entrance has a closed-in patio area that provides privacy. The rooms that have a kitchen are large. The... More

You want a great location, reasonable rate, a clean room and warm welcome from the staff, the Hitching Post Motel is the place! An old fashioned motel with a recent facelift, all you need is the clean bathroom and clean bed (courtesy of the kind cleaning staff). Yes, the furniture and fixtures are dated, yes the walls are thin, yes... More

We stayed here for one night and that was about all I would want. No real problems, but a bit depressing. There were cinder block walls, ancient bathroom, weird furniture, BUT, no strange odors or signs of dirt. The bedding was clean, blanket and pillows clean. The parking lot was tight with our van. No breakfast offered. I would stay... More

Easy parking Located next to the free way, but very quiet Calm; no noise at night Warm welcome by the staff Big size room, with good quality beds. The plugs are a little old and the furniture as well but it's a motel. Room and bathroom are clean. Free wifi with a good speed. There is also a free swimpool... More

I had to give it two stars because at least it was clean, but that's the only positive thing I can say about it. My room was TINY and old with cinder block walls. The shower was suited for very tall, thin people only. Paper thin walls - could hear every footstep and word that went past. Uncomfortable beds. I... More

You couldn't pay me to stay there again.. I actually got poked in the foot by a used heroin needle that was stuck in their bedding. I couldn't believe it! As well, the supposed "non-smoking" room reeked of excessive stale smoke odor's. To top it off, just got diagnosed with a nice scabies rash courtesy of the last weekly patrons... More

I prefer block, single story motels where you can easily carry in luggage from your parking spot out front. I've stayed here numerous times. Front desk is friendly and rooms are quiet. Nothing fancy but clean enough and reasonable for an overnight stay to visit students at UCSC

Booked a room for my daughter and I 3 weeks prior to arrival Reservation No. 48077336 for a very popular soccer tournament. I even called the night before arrival to make sure they had the reservation because I knew the there were several events in Santa Cruz that weekend and therefore it would be difficult to get a room. Upon... More

I was in a roundtrip last february and we pass by at 1 am on the road to Big Sur. When we arrived afront, i was a bit anxious about the clean of the hotel, so i did ask at the reception man to have a look to the room first. He told me ok at the condition that i... More
