Got this room at the last minute on PRiceline for an overnight stop enroute to Monterey. I was a litle leary about "winning" this hotel after reading the reviews and actually had a back up plan ready in case it was really bad. I was pleasantly surprised at not only the location but the friendliness of the front desk attendant... more

This was the worst motel we stayed in. Room was small and up a flight of narrow, treacherous steps. There are only a few parking spaces for guests at the motel. We had to park out on the street over a block away. I would recommend avoiding this place. more

Simply nice rooms (apparently recently renoved), the hotel is very well located in Santa Cruz, the prices are totally reasonable and the people working there a really gentle. Despite all other critics i'd probably go there if i went to Santa Cruz again. more

Had read all the reviews prior to booking - and thought give it a try...really pretty good location - very friendly - helpful manager...BUT DO BELIEVE everyone should know there currently is a risk staying here....about midnight a FIRE broke out in laundry room - appeared a homeless man was sleeping in there (and I recognized him from day -... more

The good: Location is very good. Just a short walk to the boardwalk. The room was spacious. There were two bedrooms and a sitting/kitchen area. Quiet, safe location. The ugly: Stains on the curtain, bed spread, walls, and ceilings. Mold in shower, on the shower curtain, and in the closet. Only one TV. Furniture was cheap, saggy and uncomfortable beds,... more

I got this hotel on hotwire and after checking out the reviews I was really scared, but after all it wasn't too bad and definately a very good value! The receptionist was friendly enough, the room seemed to have been remodeled recently (see photos) the only annoying thing was that it smelled like carpet cleaners; the carpet looked very clean... more

I have never met a more unfriendly staff. The owners son will put him out of business. He is one of the rudest people I have ever met. AND told me to Kiss his butt!! There are to many other places to stay in Santa Cruz and if I were you I would use one of them. I now have... more

My wife and I drove round Claifornia for one month in January and we chose this place for its location in Santa Cruz. It was ok, everything was clean if a little worn. If we had to stop in a Knights Inn again then we would. It was great value but not a romm to linger in! more

The only reason I rated this dump a "1" is because there is no zero! Looks are deceiving on this one, although it's close to the Boardwalk, you definitely won't enjoy your stay. You're better off staying in your car for free. The staff was rude (with a deceiving smile on their face), the room was located in a noisy... more
