The hotel was great. Typical Hampton, nice room, good breakfast. Neighborhood however is a definite negative. Very sketchy. Also, it is too far away from touristy spots. It is right off of 101 so if you just need palace to sleep, it would be fine.

Thank you for taking the time to review our property. I'm glad that you enjoyed our hotel, and that your room and our hot breakfast were to your liking. It's true that we are not adjacent to any tourist attractions, but you are able to locate the beach, the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, and the University of California, Santa Cruz... More

Strange nasty smell throughout the hotel. Very loud from road noise and parking lot. Worse night sleep that I had In a long time. Breakfast was good and staff were nice and helpful. The community of Santa Cruz is a great place and really enjoyed the area. The place is over priced for the quality of the hotel. Good luck... More

This is the perfect place to drive off the freeway and have a nice place to stay. Safe…Quiet…and Comfortable. Next morning you are ready to jump on the freeway and away you go. Great place to stay. Highly recommend. Eating place right next door. Very handy all the way around.

My Husband and I stay at Hamptons all over. This is the ONLY Hampton that we have ever stayed at that has an 11 am check out (not the standard 12 noon check out) and have not updated their beds. The matress was very uncomforable. I left with a kink in my neck. Just know that if you are a... More

I'm sorry that you were disappointed with your recent stay at our property. While it is true that our property does differ from many other Hampton Inns due to our unique size and layout, we do adhere to the Hampton Inn Brand Standards, including up-to-date bedding and an approved 11:00am check-out time. Many Hampton Inns throughout the country have an... More

I cannot say enough about how wonderful this Hampton Inn is. The staff here is wonderful. Diane, in particular, was outstanding. I was so impressed with this place that I personally called the General Manager of this property on the phone just to express how pleased we were with our stay. We were also very pleased with our room. It... More

I truly enjoyed my stay at Hampton Inn Santa Cruz, place was so clean, staff very helpful, breakfast choices were good. We did not want out sheets washed and changed every day and they were good about being sure this happened, or didn't as the case may be! Very close to all things you want to do in Santa Cruz.... I am pretty easy going, but was really disappointed with this hotel. For $200 per night, it was hot, no air-conditioning, the "pool" was about the size of a really big hot tub, and the noise was considerable (both traffic, and I could hear the people next door snoring). No in-room coffee maker. We left a day early because it... More

we stayed in Santa Cruz because it was a little less expensive than Monterey but actually really loved the Santa Cruz area plus all the things to do and see - plus it was only a realatively short drive to Monterey

Service was great. Breakfast was great. Rooms were tiny and musty. It felt more like a Motel 6. Not somewhere I plan on going again. Santa Cruz or not it's way overpriced for the bad area and quality of room.

This hotel is on Ocean Blvd which is near the homeless center on Coral Street. I got hit up a couple times for money, as I had to park on the street, as the parking lot was full. I'm sorry that your recent stay at our property was a disappointing one. It is true that Santa Cruz as a city, along with most beach towns in California, have a noticeable homeless presence, especially in times of economic hardship. It is true that about a mile away and across a river there is a homeless shelter in Santa Cruz,... More
