It is 2 located 2 short blocks from the Pier and close to the Boardwalk. Plenty of parking, although if they shuffled the parking a bit each room can have parking lot right by their room. Some smoking room available. There was a small pool that looked toward the pier. 2nd floor rooms were partially oceanview with balcony with couple... More

not sure why a lot of people rated it so low. The accommodation is located very conveniently a few mins walk away from the beach and pier. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Toiletries provided and a pool (which was surprisingly empty during our stay) we were a bit disappointed with santa cruz beach and pier (very busy and dirty)... More

The place is old and dirty. The fake grass outside of the rooms was filthy. Our room had wire running over the door way. Wifi was terrible. We actually shut the wifi option off on our phones and tablets to get faster service. Would not stay here again!

Truly a weird place to stay. When we arrived we noticed that all the room doors were wide open the whole way along the corridor. Upon entering the room we discovered why: the air conditioning had been disabled. In California. In Summer. Temperature 88F (31C). No way to get it working. Tried to watch TV but the TV and the... The Lanai Lodge looks ok from the outside but is pretty ran down. The 2 rooms to our right...from our balcony to theirs: looks like pack rats live there. Not sure if this hotel rents weekly/monthly rooms but it is just not nice to look at. The manager/owner is rude and they barely clean daily or replace towels/linens. You do... More

We stayed just one night and did not have high expectations thanks to the reviews below but I must say the hotel was nice. Good and quiet location, clean room, free spacious parking and friendly staff. For the price it was absolutely worth staying.

We first saw the review and were sort of worry but the room was clean and it is very cheap ! I guess it is exactly what you would expect for the price ! Would not recommand if you want to stay more than two nights though! Also if you want to park your car you cannot during the Night... More

We had no choice all the hotels close by were book out. Very noisy, sliding door doesn't lock, dirty unclean room. Bed bugs, manager refused to refund money when we found out the place was disgusting. Will not stay here again a dump. Read reviews as there correct. Stay away!

We decided not to book ahead for our trip down the Pacific Coast Highway and just stop when we found somewhere nice. Santa Cruz appealed and so we tried a few places until we found one at a sensible price - Lanai Lodge. I'm very glad that we didn't read the TripAdvisor reviews first as it would have put us... This was our first trip to Santa Cruz, the kids have been asking to go to the beach boardwalk. However, for some reason every motel/hotel in walking distance was either booked or way overpriced (i think there was a beach volleyball tourney) hence we found ourselves at the Lanai Lodge (also incredibly overpriced considering the condition, I've stayed at 3...
