This is the second time that we have stayed at this bed and breakfast and both experiences have been perfect. The owners, Constantin & Adriana, are absolutely adorable and so obliging. We stayed in "Jenny's Room" both times and the king size bed was incredible. The house is only about 11/2 blocks from Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk which makes it... More

I had the pleasure of discovering Cliff Crest several years ago and loved it so much that I ended up staying there for months at a time. It is like a small village located walking distance from the beach and downtown. It is just over the hill from Silicon Valley but a million miles away in terms of the energy.... More

We booked this through Travelocity, advertised as $95 - but then after we booked we saw there was a $50 addition because it was for two people. That was strange and disappointing. We decided to stick with it because we were booking last minute, about two days before Thanksgiving. It seemed like a unique experience and a nice idea to... More

If your considering staying at the Cliff Crest please please take my advice. Find a cliff and jump off it, I'm sure your hospital stay will be more enjoyable. The grounds were not kept the rooms seemed dusty and dirty. These people do not know how to run a business. I went into the kitchen in the evening looking for... More

We were visiting Santa Cruz and decided to stay in this Bed and Breakfast. I am so glad that we did! Hospitality of Adriana- the owner- was amazing! Rooms were very clean, beds were comfortable, tea was provided and served on the beautiful antique tray in our room, fruit was available to us at any time. We wanted to stay... More

The owners of this place should be ashamed to charge so much. The "private" bathroom for the king bed & single bed room is across the hall where I had to pass others in the night to get to. While showering in the tiny tub, I couldn't help but rub up against the moldy shower curtains. The only toiletries provided... More

Although the size of the rooms and the condition of the facility prevents a higher rating, the owners were helpful and gracious. This home has a lot of history. Their website will give you all of the details. Constanin was very nice and Adriana makes a wonderful breakfast!

If you prefer staying in places with a bit of character and individuality rather than the usual rather homogenous US-style motels, I can recommended this place. Beautiful old Victorian building with very friendly and welcoming owners. Lots of atmosphere and eccentric charm, plus the bonus of off-street parking. Handy location too, within 10 mins of Boardwalk and Downtown in either... More

The room was dusty and the bathroom looked as though it had not been cleaned for weeks. The sheets and bed pillows smelled musty. The towels in the bathroom were the same quality I would use to wash my dog. There is no general area to sit and relax. For the cost I give this a very low rating.

The purpose of my review is to set expectations for others. I agree with pieces of the other recent reviews. First the positives. The proprietor Adrianna is gracious and helpful. The location, a 5-10 minute walk to downtown Santa Cruz (coffee shops, shopping) and 2 blocks from the boardwalk, is excellent. If you had a great grandmother with an old... More
