The owners of this place should be ashamed to charge so much. The "private" bathroom for the king bed & single bed room is across the hall where I had to pass others in the night to get to. While showering in the tiny tub, I couldn't help but rub up against the moldy shower curtains. The only toiletries provided... More

Although the size of the rooms and the condition of the facility prevents a higher rating, the owners were helpful and gracious. This home has a lot of history. Their website will give you all of the details. Constanin was very nice and Adriana makes a wonderful breakfast!

If you prefer staying in places with a bit of character and individuality rather than the usual rather homogenous US-style motels, I can recommended this place. Beautiful old Victorian building with very friendly and welcoming owners. Lots of atmosphere and eccentric charm, plus the bonus of off-street parking. Handy location too, within 10 mins of Boardwalk and Downtown in either... More

The room was dusty and the bathroom looked as though it had not been cleaned for weeks. The sheets and bed pillows smelled musty. The towels in the bathroom were the same quality I would use to wash my dog. There is no general area to sit and relax. For the cost I give this a very low rating.

The purpose of my review is to set expectations for others. I agree with pieces of the other recent reviews. First the positives. The proprietor Adrianna is gracious and helpful. The location, a 5-10 minute walk to downtown Santa Cruz (coffee shops, shopping) and 2 blocks from the boardwalk, is excellent. If you had a great grandmother with an old... More

My daughter could not find an apartment or living situation in Santa Cruz. Luckily, we found this inn, because the owner, Adriana, is such a caring and wonderful person! She agreed to provide housing for my daughter, and I feel safe and wonderful leaving her in this amazing situation! Just like a home away from home!

Built in 1886 and the place looks like it was not cleaned up nor updated since 1986! Do not trust the photos on this one. It was REALLY overpriced, messy, and crammed with dusty knick knacks. Our bathroom was closet sized, the towels were old and raggy...I'd never have ones like these in my home. (Well I do use old... More

The on-line photos were nice. Adrianna is a delightful and overworked hostess who needs additional help. The "walking garden" was a pile of weeds and dislodged bricks, with broken and rusty pieces of yard furniture from a variety garage sales, filthy torn cushions, etc. too dirty to sit on. They charged us $245 for a room because we were traveling... More

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights during our honeymoon. We stayed in the Pineapple Room, which was only $100/night on Tuesday and Wednesday. It was a great value and a great place to stay! We really enjoyed all the fun decorations, some of which are made by Adrianna herself, the breakfast (raisin bread french toast!), and our... More

If you are a 20 something, I'm sure you'll love the proximity to the boardwalk, the very attentive and lovely proprietress and all of the cute knick knacks adorning the property. In my 50's, I find the decor (tchotchkes) somewhat less charming and being within earshot of the boardwalk at night with wandering inebriated college kids not so conducive to... More
