I had no choice but to stay at the Day's Inn in Santa Clara - they raised the rates last year, purportedly because they 'refurbished' the rooms - what they actually did was install new carpet and bedspreads, but the same cigarette burns on the countertops are still there, the same old plumbing, and the same worn towels. The beds... more
Stayed here at thanksgiving time while visiting friends. The hotel is an older property, with rather large - but sparsely furnished rooms. I found it acceptibly clean and quiet and a reasonable value when I stayed (very low occupancy time of year, and an unusually competetive rate). The hotel is on El Camino Real, which is a very busy street... more
Good value, Typical motel with large rooms, kitchen area and jacuzzi. Car parking is difficult. Nothing of note within walking distance, but rest of SJ area is all within 5km or so. Breakfast is not much more than a coffee machine and a box of cereals and a box of pastries, treat it as optional and forget about it. (Coming... more
Was a bit leary, considering where it is and the price, but was very surprised! They just put in new furniture - the bed (King) was fantastic! Definately a step up for Days Inn! And they have HDTV's (at least I think that is what it is) - however, the channel selection was sparse compared to other hotels. Hotel staff... more
This Days Inn is a nicer facility. The shower stall had a jaccuzi tube and large upgraded tile with major mold in the grout from floor to fceiling. The staffs seemed put out when I asked them to clean it and they did a terrible job. There was no heater in the bathroom. The maid made little effort to reach... more
My wife and I recently stayed at this Days Inn. We were SHOCKED at how nice it was!!! We had a couch, three phones (one in the bathroom), a jacuzzi tub, a king sized bed, and free breakfast. The grand total for one night was $57!!!! This has to be one of the best travel finds that I have encountered!! more
My husband and I stayed here for a weekend in Feb 2005. The service was fine for what we paid for. However, the parking lot was poorly lit at night and the hotel kind of creepy. The rooms felt very worn, although overall decently clean. The a/c was very loud. Whenever I was in the room, I just wanted to... more
My husband and I chose this hotel because of its convenience to the airport and the Winchester Mystery House, and we were very pleasantly surprised. We paid about $55/night for a spacious, quiet room in a pleasant courtyard setting, which included a generally good breakfast of cereal, fruit, pastries but awful coffee. No airport noise either! It was agreat base... more
Surprisingly nice hotel on El Camino given the lack of nicer properties on this very busy street. 2 story outdoor hallway motel, and each room I stayed in (3 total) were large and very quiet. Staff was friendly. The only negative things noted are lack of sufficient parking and the property constantly selling out. Last minutes are nearly impossible to... more
