Grumpy rude staff, which you will only notice if they bother to acknowledge or speak to you. Currently under renovation so there is lots of noise. Wine reception was very poor. Watered down wine in plastic cups, nobody to explain what the wine was, although the cheese was nice! Breakast was a farce, paper cups, plates and plastic cutlery. Coffee... more

We stayed in Colonial Beach inn for 3 nights and we enjoyed every moment of it. The quality of the room was great, lovely, homely, just cozy. The few touches that added to our gear experience were: the hotel proveded beach towels, which was fantastic gesture, especially if you are not driving but flying in from Europe; secondly, they also... more

The Colonial Beach Inn is a quaint hotel 2 blocks from the ocean and about 4 blocks from downtown Santa Barbara. Our king room was very comfortable with plenty of closet and drawer space. The continental breakfast was excellent and we were also given wine and cheese in the afternoon and milk and cookies at night. The staff was extremely... more

Great choice of accommodation, close to everything. Room was quite small but had all we needed. Breakfast was great on streetside, wine & cheese in the afternoon fun. We had such a good time & got picked up for wine tour. Pool was nice. I always felt safe walking to & from motel. more

We did not book this place in advance and drove around a few motels in the area and found the Colonical Beach Inn to be one of the more reasonable places. The room was clean and pleasant enough. We did have reservations about the level of noise in the evening, however slept fine and did not hear anthing from our... more

My husband and I went for a romantic wine tasting getaway. We were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a "suite" upon arrival. The hotel has a real charm to it with the garden like feel and the adorable colonial style. It appeared to have been recently remodeled. A bonus was the wine tour can pick you up practically at... more

We just spend a couple of nights at the Colonial, which we chose from a Drive By decision. We asked for a king size and got a nice room with kitchen as well. Clean, cozy, a comfortable bed, complimentary basic breakfast, cheese and wine platter at the fireplace in the small reception area. Nothing fancy, but really really nice. more

We didn't have any problems, but we were not impressed. It was a cute little place, with wine and cheese tasting when we arrived. The pool was small and we didn't go in it. The room was small and not really what we expected, but it was clean. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was unimpressive, seemed kind of old.... more

This hotel is not in a garden setting as the pictures imply. It is right on the road, the noise from the traffic is in the rooms, and every time a door closes within three units on the floor or below your room shakes. The staff if friendly but the breakfast is next to awful, it is run of the... more

Clean hotel. Good customer service. Overpriced. Cozy and only 2 blocks from the beach. Nice weekend hotel. They have "wine tasting" from 4:30-6:30. My husband and I were the only ones in the lobby drinking most of the wine and eating the cheese and crackers. That was great. Overall we would give it 3 stars. more
