Stayed 2 nights in room #17. When we arrived, the Inn's outward appearance is quaint and inviting. Once inside, the lobby area was cozy and nicely appointed. After checking in, we proceeded to climb the interior stairs towards our room. There was an ever increasing feeling that the Inn was well worn and in need of maintenance work. This became... More

description on line including pictures were misleading. The staff was less then friendly and the overall inn was dark, cold, and very noisy. The wine and cheese reception was terrible with cheap wine and less than adequate food choices. It was not a lobby that you wanted to hang out at. Would not recommend nor would I stay there again.... This was a decent stay for a decent price. The cottages are next to the inn and aren't amazing but are decent. For the price, the location can't be beat. You're RIGHT next to State St and the beach. The cottage itself is nice. Has a room heater and a fridge + microwave. It even has a nice little deck.... More

I find the reviews posted on Trip Advisor to be somewhat paradoxical and even at odds with other travel reviews I have read about this facility which are generally far more favourable in their tone. We picked this facility because of location and numerous favourable reviews elsewhere. We were travelling by train and the Villa Rosa is less than two... More

We wanted to get away for a few days and decided Santa Barbara was the place. So we booked Amtrak out of LA and found the Villa Rosa on the Google. The great thing is that it is literally 3 blocks from the Amtrak station & half a block to the beach. We stayed in room 5 which was spacious... More

We stayed two nights at this inn. Upon entering, it looks very comfy and cute. However, when we got to our room, a bit disappointing. The wall lamps were just about to fall off the wall! We Probably should of told manager, but we had another issue and we forgot. The room was ok clean, furniture needed to be replaced,... More

Where do I begin..... We came to Santa Barbara for a bachelorette party with nine ladies last year in October. Half of us arrived in the afternoon to try for an early check-in. We were greeted with the less than enthusiastic front desk staff who said they only had one reservation (we reserved two cottages for the weekend). The issue... More

Like the title says, don't stay in the "cottages"!! It was bad. Not all the "cottages" seem to be own by the Villa Rosa owner and I tell you, those tenants are annoying!!!! My companion and me thought the walls were made of paper cause you could hear everything thru them. The actual Villa Rosa Inn is "ok" but not... More

This is a quaint B&B just a block off State St and the ocean and Stearns Wharf in Santa Barbara. We stayed here several years ago and remembered it fondly. Caliornia/European feel, beautiful gardening, pleasant courtyard. We stayed again this weekend and was largely disappointed. The employees were not hospitality-minded, the linens were dingy, beds were worn and the breakfast... More

Loved everything about this inn. The Rustic California style was comforting and the room looked just like the photo. The TV, bath, bed made it feel more like home than hotel. Easy to imagine it was a Villa or Hacienda instead of a hotel. Staff was quick and efficient, The lite breakfast was clean, well done, fruit and butter chilled,... More
