This was our last stop on a mega 3 week road trip down the west coast. My kids (3 and 5) really enjoyed this nostalgic, Spanish style b&b. We swam in a clean and warm hot tub, enjoyed hanging by the pool and the pretty foliage, and appreciated the charm of this older and quaint inn. The staff was friendly,... More

Stayed here for a girls weekend and it was lovely. More money than I would have liked to spend but what you get for the money is good. Nice breakfast...a little more than continental and a little less than full breakfast. A good way to start the day and the coffee and juice was unlimited. Happy hour was wine, other... More

I had high hopes. I arrived late in the evening. Had a smooth check in. That was the best part.... It's a cute place but be warned, no air conditioning and the breakfast should not even be called a breakfast (for a "B&B," holiday inn has better breakfasts!). Once I got the room cooled down it was nice. Big room... More

This is the second time I have been at Villa Rosa. The price was a bit high but it was Father's Day weekend and UCSB graduation weekend! The room I stayed in had an ocean view and a fan to cover no air conditioning and was perfect. The breakfast was stocked well with just enough variety and a lot of... More

For the most part it is a nice inn. It is old and charming. Of course old and charming means small rooms and no air conditioning. Not a problem when we were there, but that wasn't summer. Nice happy hour and breakfast

Smal boutique hotel. Great location. Charming, old world feel. Just a few downsides: Prices were raised significantly around UCSB graduation; shower was weak and hard to control temp; continental breakfast was thin, redundant and not well re-stocked; thin pillows. But happy hour and port/sherry hour were a great bonus.

I reserved on line a specific room (room 3) 2 months in advance for 2 nights, when I got there they had botched the reservation and said I could have the room for only ONE of the two nights. Didn't make much of an apology or offer compensation. Also check that room is what they say it is- suite (2... More

We hadn't stayed at the Villa Rosa for several years because of some of the reviews that we had seen and rumors of it going downhill in quality. We decided to give it a try over Mother's Day weekend and were pleasantly surprised that is wasn't as bad as we had read. Our room was clean, happy hour and breakfast... More

We really enjoyed pur stay. The room was spacious and comfortable! Also clean and with all the comforts. Massive bed. Great pool and hot tub. Also great aperitif between 5 and 7! Centrally located. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Would use again!!!

I left this review until we completed the whole of our Us Hwy1 trip. If there was anything to complain about specifically, I would have done so whilst at the property. However at $179 per night, you can get better value for money on the block/surrounding and there is nothing to justify the premium. Plenty of nice motels close to... More
