We came to Villa Rosa in last July. I absolutely loved it. It was well kept, quaint, cozy, beautiful, and in the perfect location, right off the beach, away from the busy roads. Happy hour surrounded by beautiful gardens, the pretty pool in the courtyard and the lovely ambiance was amazing. I slept like a baby in the comfy beds... More

My boyfriend and I were looking for a last minute weekend jaunt to nearby Santa Barbara. We found a groupon getaway for Villa Rosa Inn, SB for a decent price ($250) read average reviews and said what the hell. The outside of this place was nice but unkept. The main issues we found we are as follows: 1. The decor... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here on an impromptu weekend getaway and I have to say it's not that bad. Great location if you are planning on walking State St and the pier, and it's only a block from the beach. We booked through a discount site so we called in advance to make sure we got a king room... Villa Rosa is a classically beautiful building and the location couldn't be better, but the current owner, an infamous landlord, is shamefully neglecting it and bringing it to ruin. Google "Dario Pini" to learn about his misdeeds. It is heartbreaking that this place which held such wonderful memories for me is now so degraded. West Beach is the best location... More

We stayed in Santa Barbara for 3 nights on our way home from a long vacation in Palm Springs. Neither of us had ever been and the Villa Rosa was recommended to us by a gentleman we met in the desert who lives in SB. After perusing their website, we booked in for our stay, but were quite disappointed when... More

I've stayed here twice now. It has such potential, but clearly no money is put into it. My hairdryer was held together with string--how much does it cost to replace a hair dryer?! Several of the blinds didn't have dowels, so opening and closing them was a hassle. The bathrooms are very old and need updating. The wifi is terrible--kept... More

Wonderful location, someone actually counted 55 steps to beach. Walking distance to Eladio's - don't miss it! Across from beach and wharf. Quaint older building with pool and spa. Breakfast included and wine reception. Comfortable beds and large rooms. Loved it!

The Villa Rosa is convenatly located near the water and easy access to the main shopping street. The hotel is boutique but the owners really play on the archatecture and supposed beautiful rooms. Let's start by saying this hotel is not air conditioned, the heat during our stay was like being placed in a 400 degree oven. The room doors... More

The Villa Rosa is a lovely smaller & cozy inn nestled in a residential area, very close to the beach & Stearns Wharf. With the proximity to the beach, the inn is surprisingly quiet. This is an older but well maintained & attractive establishment that exudes charm & uniqueness. The room was nicely appointed but the bathroom was small. The... More

Let me start with the pros: 1) The price and location. Its half a block from the beach and one block from State Street. That is what got me. Now with that out of the way, here is a list of the cons: 1) No AC and I was there during a heat wave. A wet rag and a fan... More
