This 2 story house is one of my favorite places to stay when I come to Santa Barbara. It is a stones throw from the beach and a short walk to State Street.I love the decor and all the beautiful succulents inside and outside of the house. There is a pool and a whirlpool on the gorgeous patio surrounded by tropical plants... This inn reminds me of many a European bed and breakfast, that is to say, inexpensive for the location and maintained to minimum standards, with dim lighting in the rooms, awkward little toilet/shower arrangements en suite, and a handy continental breakfast. A very generous and tasty free happy hour of cold cuts, cheeses, and wine is worth attending. This hotel... More

We stayed over 4th of July weekend and the location of VRI is great, half block to beach, super location for walking to beach to see Fireworks; and close to State Street for walking / dinning... But overall this Inn needs considerable upkeep & work: garden needed maintenance both around the pool and outside (leaves and dead plants were plentiful),... More

Hey guys, those of you who complained--why don't you stay at the boring Ramada Inn. This hotel has charm, the location is perfect--at beach and State St. Trolly takes you everywhere. it's clean. The balconies are adorable. Sure it's shabby chic, but furniture is interesting and tasteful. Those of you who love charming old houses will love it here. Only... More

Great little hotel great location Our favorite place to stay!!! The girl at the desk was great she even helped jump start our car when we had left the light on….We always feel at home. The light breakfast in the morning with the papers to read really make it a relaxing stay.

Villa Rosa does a terrific job, at a reasonable price. The location is perfect, near State Street and the beach, but not right on either (so it is quite). The interior is tastefully decorated, with a great little sitting area and fireplace. The continental breakfast and wine/cheese in the afternoon are a bonus. The staff was very friendly and helpful,... More

Villa Rosa has long been our favorite inn for a holiday overnight getaway. This December, unfortunately, we noticed a change. The front desk manager was surly and seemed annoyed when we told her the lamp in our room wasn't working. There was no offer to help with our luggage to our upstairs room. The breakfast buffet was paltry and unappetizing... More

We stayed in the apartments they have next door. The room was smelly, old, no fly screens and no privacy. We asked to change rooms and the Manager was okay but not really helpful. We were shown two others we chose the one without carpets as both of the others smelled so bad. We were told the balcony was private... More

My reasons for going with this Inn were that I wanted to be close to the warf and State street without actually being on either, and since I was traveling with my wife I wanted to do something a bit more novel. I also had the sense that this might be a property in transition. Having stayed there now, I... More

Let me preface this regarding all the other reviews, this place may be mothers milk to some, but the lies and dishonest business practices make this a deal breaker for me. This was one of several recommended places to stay for a wedding we were attending in Santa Barbara in July of 2013. I have stayed here once before over... More
