I booked this hotel at the last minute. My husband and I needed to get away so we decided to go to Santa Barbara over night. Paid $145 night, not too bad since it was literally 500 ft from the beach. Bathrooms were newly renovated and we enjoyed the spa jet bath. In the morning when we checked out orange... more

Went here after checking out of the Avania Inn where we very unhappy. We got the last available room at the Inn which was a very nice suite above the office. Very quiet, clean and well furnished. The furniture and bathroom is perhaps a bit dated but otherwise not a problem at all. The person at reception was pleasant and... more

The front desk manager went out of his way to make sure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. He brought us extra beach towels and was very pleasant. Our room was beautiful, spacious and clean. Santa Barbara is a beautiful city! more

Santa Barbara was prized by the Spanish and it was the choice garrison, beating out Monterey or San Diego, back when CA was Spanish. The city is still marvelous: during the day, onshore breezes blow in and at night, offshores come down from the surrounding mountains from the hotter inland, warming the evening, making it feel like people think CA... more

My husband and i stayed here for one sunday night for a quick birthday getaway from LA. we paid 180 plus tax for the "presidential suite" and were not impressed with how "presidential" it was. While the hotel has been updated (we stayed here once years ago) - i don't think any president even of a one person company would... more

Stayed at Castillo Inn before a wedding in SB Wine Country. Great place and lots of attention to details: comfy bed, plasma TV, clean clean clean, updated bathroom with granite countertops and tub surround. My only complaint is there is a lot of road noise, but it may be due to us leaving our windows open. Will definately recommend it... more

Booked 2-queen room online. Easy check-in (Tyler was friendly & helpful, and provided town maps without being asked). Room good size, and very clean. One (slight) disadvantage was that this room was adjacent to Castillo Road, so there was some traffic noise. Most of the rooms are not adjacent to main thoroughfares, though. The inn is near to beach, easy... more

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Castillo Inn at the beach. We were a lil skeptical due to the great price for a 3 day stay. When we arrived we were in heaven. There was maybe 20 rooms it reminded me of a small spanish village. Located across the street from Stearns Wharf and West Beach we really didn't... more

We spent almost one day online researching hotels we do not like to pay a lot, but like to stay in a nice clean hotels. We finally decided to pick "Castillo Inn" we arrived and our reservation was booked and room ready as promissed. Greeted nicelly by Tyler the front desk receptionist was provided with information on shoping and places... more

We cancelled our reservation in large part because of the rude and condescending attitude of "Tyler" the front desk personnel who answered the telephone both times we called to discuss our reservation. Customer service and professionalism are of paramount importance - especially in the very competitve world of the hospitality industry. I think that common courtesy would be better served... more
