This motel is conveniently located, a short drive from the liveliest areas of Santa Barbara. Upon check-in, a deposit was added to our room charge; we were not told about this it was only when we inquired afterwards that we were told this deposit was being taken. The pool area is lovely, with towels provided. The gym is tiny, and... More

The motel is convenient located with nice quality rooms. There is a pool and a gym. The breakfast has a good offer and was very well managed and refilled constantly. My compliment to the lady working there how she managed the breakfast room. Overall a very good stay.

I was in Santa Barbara over night for a conference at UCSB and came across this lodge which was the right price and great accommodations. It looks like they have been remodeling and our room on the 2nd floor was clean and quiet with comfortable beds. The breakfast was adequate and they have a keurig coffee maker in the room... More

So I showed up in Santa Barbara on a Saturday with no reservations. Found the Sandpiper. CAA got me a small discount. Clean well equipped rooms. My problem is that the room was SO HOT when I walked in the breath was taken from me and I immediately broke out into a full body sweat. With the AC turned on... More

Pulled into Santa Barbara at 5.30pm to find somewhere to stay for 2 nights. Staff were very helpful, rooms were very clean and well equipped with coffee machine, microwave, fridge and free wifi. Breakfast included - continental, lots of it! Pool/spa nice and clean. Only downside is that the dining room is a little small and cramped. Would def recommend.... More

When we stayed it was under construction which was a bit inconvenient because alot of parking was blocked off and it made for a tight squeeze to drive through toward the parking in back. The staff was incredibly friendly though. Continental breakfast was the worst one we've ever in the sense that it was very limited in its selection of... More

Hello and Thank-you for taking the time to write a review, all comments are helpful. I am happy to hear that our staff did a good job. We were under construction in January. A big part of that project was to build a new Breakfast room to provide a much better breakfast. We also installed an elevator and updated the... More

First time in the US and on our way to Vancouver, driving all the way, and having just driven up from LA, jet lagged and in an enormous Ford, we wouldn't have cared less if we were in a shed at the bottom of someone's garden. As it turns out this was a pleasant motel and the room was comfortable,... More

Everybody in Santa Barbara wants to be on State Street, and the Sandpiper Lodge, a tidy older property, is on State Street — though far away from the sights most folks would come to Santa Barbara to see. (That said: the location makes for a much quieter stay than you’d ever have in the nightclub district.) The helpful staff upgraded... More
