The best part about this hotel was the wonderful, friendly, and helpful staff. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The location is great for walking around! This is not what I would consider a "luxury" hotel by any means (the decorations are a little like they put lipstick on a pig) but we enjoyed our stay and would say it... More

This Inn in historic Santa Barbara is my preferred destination for romantic and family road trips north of my home in Walnut (near Los Angeles), California. The staff is routinely polished, professional, and poised; the venue superb. I recommend the ocean-view suites and any meal at its restaurant downstairs (you get a generous discount). I would avoid anything from the... More

I had the opportunity to stay at the Harbor View Inn April 17th and what a great surprise it was. Located right next to the pier and a couple minute walk from downtown and all of the night nightlife, this hotel was very convenient. Our room was very large and had a fantastic balcony and a 180 degree view of... More

I came in on a Friday night by the Amtrak and I choose to stay here because it was close to the station and its across the street from the beach. Overall, I enjoyed the hotel. Getting in late I needed advice on a place within walking distance to eat and the gentleman I checked in with was able to... More

Given the nightly rate of this hotel I was expecting a more luxurious experience. Most definitely disappointed. The room was very large which was nice but it simply felt like a standard hotel room with upgraded toiletries. The beds were very average and the bathroom was a very poorly done marble restoration. The site map given to us at check... More

Hello and Thank-you for taking the time to write a review all comments are helpful. I am sorry to hear your stay was lest then great. Our front desk should have offered the key to the mini bar at check-in. We have developed this property over many years with each wing being built years a part, we are always upgrading... More

My husband and I had never been to SB before, and had selected the Harbor View Inn (HBI) after reading many online reviews – both the worst and the best. The worst were scary, no doubt; but the sheer volume of positive feedback persuaded us. For us (just us, no kids, no pets), the HBI was the perfect choice. Below,... More

We took the train from Orange Country to Santa Barbara for the weekend. We chose this hotel because it was near the train station and the harbor. It was a perfect pick. The hotel is beautiful. Our room overlooked the water. We were in walking distance of everything we wanted to do. Highly recommend it.

Error & overcharged, just three emails to correct, holidays should not be about chasing & correcting your account. My suggestion to Australian travels is to take two credit cards, one with a small credit limit & that is the one you use to check in with. Our bill was $142, we were charged over $700 in error. Note: the motel... More

The Harbor View Inn is a surprising little jewel located directly across from the beach. We had a great room (319), which faced the beach but was off the main road. The room was quiet and nicely appointed, with a lovely little balcony that framed the sunrise every morning. A sure bet here is the State Street Coffee shop, which... More

This is the place to stay if you want to be in the middle of things. Directly across from the beach and 1/2 a block from State Street makes this an ideal location. The rooms were nice and clean but nothing special. The people were very friendly and accommodating. We stayed on the ocean side of the hotel with a... More
