The Avania is located a short distance from both the beach, marina, and downtown Santa Barbara. The staff are friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable. I stayed in a room on the third floor – the room had a king-sized bed, refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. There was a also a balcony which chairs for relaxing outside if... More

This Hotel is good located (very close to the beach, just around the corner) and for a onenighter OK. Don't expect too much so you can't be disappointed ;-) Very good is the parking directly to the house, actually you can see your car from the room (this is actually from every room possible).

The room and bathroom was clean, bed was comfy and there was a coffee maker, which we didn't use, a microwave and fridge. We stayed on the 3rd floor and had no problems with noise, weird odours or feeling unsafe. The breakfast was fine if you like basic cereal, eggs, toast and waffles. Excellent value for money, especially for an... More

Old and dingy. I was scared for my life- I regretted booking here as soon as I got into the old broken elevator. Don't stay here it's old and over priced. The staff are not very friendly and it looks like it's out of a murder movie. The bed covers make my skin crawl and the hallways are loud and... More

Spent here 1 night in Oct2013before heading to Santa Cruz. Clean rooms, nice breakfast, good location. Maybe the receptions should be more nicer and no so loath. That's all I want to stay. Don't understand the hype about SB. Worth visit: Courthouse, Mission Santa Barbara, and taste healthy fastfood at Silvergreens.

When we arrived, the receptionist allowed us to check in earlier as planned. We were delighted and our room wasn't too shabby at all. The furniture was slightly outdated, however, overall, it was quite nice and didn't smell bad. I would stay again!

The Avania Inn is a destination to which we’ll return – hopefully Christmas 2015. The amenities were excellent. Our complimentary breakfasts featured scrambled eggs and sausage to go along with cereals, rolls, and delicious coffee. We ate in the roomy and attractively decorated eating area. Our room on the third floor was clean and quiet and we enjoyed the view... More

We recently stayed two nights at the Avania Inn and would have given it a better rating because we liked the location, the room amenities, the comfortable bed and the adequate breakfast. However, we found that the noise level from adjacent rooms and the door slamming noises disturbing. Also, both nights there were incidents late at night in the hallway... More

The staff all did their jobs well including housekeeping: Johnny (I believe this was the spelling given) and Samantha at the front desk were both helpful. Very clean and larger than I had expected. Nice separate vanity area with mini fridge (larger than I'd expected one with freezer) and quite new microwave. Also a REAL coffee pot coffee maker! Bravo.... More
