Only able to stay one night, but wish it was longer. Great location, clean large rooms, wonderful breakfast and complimentary bikes. Entire staff was very accommodating, esp Nick who checked us in. Too late for wine and cheese, but the chocolate chip cookies and milk were a nice touch along with the album of extensive restaurant selections.

We stayed here for two nights and were really impressed. The room was huge, very clean and comfy bed with crisp sheets. It opened out onto a pretty garden. The extra treats of wine and cheese and milk and cookies were a wonderful additional treat. The cookies in particular were excellent. What really stood out was the exceptional customer service.... I especially like this inn in Santa Barbara because it is low key, quiet and well run. The rooms open on an inner courtyard that is full of colorful plants, and a small but pretty pool. It is a quiet and casual place to stay, within a block or two of the harbor and beach. It is also an easy... More

At the end of a 2 week road trip across California we arrived at the Inn by the Harbor. Having stayed in many smart hotels, our expectations were not that high. Received a very warm welcome combined with a host of all inclusive treats: drinks and nibbles early evening, biscuits later on, breakfast included plus coffee, tea, water and a... More

We only had one night at this hotel on a whirlwind tour of California but it was nice and in a great location. The hotel was the only one on our visit offering complimentary breakfast and it also offered wine and cheese tasting in the afternoon and home baked cookies at night. As we were passing through we wanted to... More

We stayed here for one night on our route down Highway 1. The manager Frank could not have been nicer or more helpful. Great recommendations for dinner, nice personal touches, wine & cheese early evening, milk and cookies later on. Good rooms for the rating, clean, comfortable and well equipped. Easy walking distance to both the harbour and the town. Highly... More

Our stay at the Inn by the Harbor in Santa Barbara was an excellent experience. The rooms were very clean and although a bit cramped, they were totally acceptable. Great location - within a short walk to the beach or a few blocks to the main town area. Breakfast was a very good continental type and as long as the... More

Agree with the previous comments, more of a motel, but what they do they do very well indeed. Well positioned, and run by very pleasant and helpful people. Nice touches too, like the afternoon wine and cheese! would definitely go back if we visit Santa Barbara again.

To say that the picture is a little deceptive is an understatement! We arrived and were so shocked at the location and the fact that it bore no resembulance to the picture we actually had to check the address again. Alas, we were at the hotel we had booked. The discription was so misleading, 'Nestled among lush gardens', it was... More

This place is rather cheekily named since the sea front is at least five minutes' walk but its overall location isn't bad at all. The building is at right angles to the main road so there was no traffic passing immediately outside the rooms. We had no trouble sleeping. This was our third stop on a trip up the coast... More
