Have not been to Santa Barbara for a few years and we found the city and this hotel living on a reputation that is not todays reality. The Hotel is in a very good location IF we go back to a time when there were not so many "street people" living on the streets and using various areas to sleep... More

Stayed here for two nights, and I loved this place! The room had a fireplace, and beautiful little patio. Enjoyed the French Press coffee in my room, and would recommend this to anyone who wanted to visit Santa Barbara. It's only a couple of blocks from State Street with restaurants, bars, etc., but the hotel maintains a quiet luxurious feel.... More

We recently stayed here - only for two nights - would love to have stayed for more! What a wonderful lovely hotel...small and intimate...just 23 rooms. It is just mere blocks from State Street but it is so quiet you would swear you were far away from the city. Our room was large with a king size bed and luxurious... More

Great location--quiet in the heart of S.B. a few blocks from State St. Walkable neighborhoods, warm lap pool, good breakfasts, iced tea, lemonade and coffee available all day in the lobby. Warm cookies in the evening. We were given a complimentary room upgrade--to suite with sitting area, king platform bed with nice linens, balcony, fireplace. overlooking the pool, but shaded... More

The Spanish Garden Inn is close to perfect. The decor is charming, the rooms are spacious and lovely, and the location could not be better because the Inn is so close to "down town." Very well managed. Very nice place to stay in Santa Barbara! My husband and I found it to be a gracious place where we could truly... More

This is a beautiful place with large rooms, luxurious linens, a fireplace and large shower. We spent two nights in a King Room and really enjoyed the location a couple blocks from State Street. We walked all over downtown and enjoyed the shopping and eating. We actually attended an event at the Lobrero Theater, which was just blocks away. The... More

The inn has only 23 rooms. We enjoyed two nights in a lovely and well-appointed suite with a balcony looking over the street. Delicious breakfasts are included, which may be taken indoors or out, privately or downstairs. We enjoyed tasting (delicious) local wines in the lobby on both evenings. The inn is located just a short walk from Santa Barbara's... More

This is the perfect place to stay in Santa Barbara, close to State Street and the sea front but very in a quiet neighbourhood. Hotel is well deserved of its rating, the staff are so attentive. The rooms are excellent, perfect size for 2 adults. Free drinks available all day plus free parking if you have a car. Has a... More

Alan, Thank you for the review. The "How old is the hotel?" question does come up a lot as the feel of the property is quite historic. The hotel, however, was built in 2001. We look forward to your next visit. Sincerely, Brian Cogswell General Manager More

Visited in early February and totally enjoyed the Spanish Garden Inn. Brian and his staff were fantastic. Breakfast never disappointed. Would definitely stay here again the next time we're in Santa Barbara.

We spent two peaceful nights in a king room overlooking the courtyard of this charming gem of a hotel on a quiet side street in Santa Barbara. The room was generously sized with two comfortable chairs in front of a flat screen TV and welcoming gas fireplace. The bed sported a duvet which we immediately kicked off in favor of... More
