The overall facility (hallways and common room) are tired and need updating. The adjunct building is awful - strobe lights blink as part of the smoke detector system and you're provided with earplugs for the passing trains and traffic. There's no rate adjustment for this part of the hotel. Nor is it disclosed that you'll be staying there. Also, housekeeping... More

Good Day and thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. The room that you stayed in has just been renovated and as a result we have learned through guest feedback that the flashing light is bothersome. It’s our assumption that this wasn’t caught during the construction process because the lights were always on and it wasn’t apparent until the... More

Excellent views, wonderful room, friendly staff. Some updating needed - AC unit noisy and difficult to control. Check-in delay seemed excessive but room was excellent. Charge for parking but adjacent free street parking easily accessed.

Maid knocked on the door one day early--8 15!! to service room. I had to turn them away. When they did come back, they took a sealed-up dish of chips with the room service tray, and left the salsa and guac in their sealed up cups. We had planned on eating them later, so that was annoying. The workout room... More

Comparable to a Holiday Inn from the 70's. In good condition but poorly laid out. The rooms use window air conditioners that sound like old jet engines. The rooms are stocked with ear plugs but you really need a high quality noise canceling headset if you want to sleep.

Hello Pamela, we have read your feedback and thank you for participating on tripadvisor, we truly value your thoughts. We’d like to thank you for recognizing our efforts in maintaining the facility in good condition as this along with great service is certainly within our daily control. The layout unfortunately is something that have little influence over and is a... More

My husband stayed at the Hyatt for about 10 days. Elmer went above and beyond expectations to make our stay as comfortable as possible at a difficult time. My husband's room was in the annex where parking and Wi-Fi are free, and it was very quiet. There was a coffee pot and even a refrigerator in the room. The beds... More

This is by far the worst Hyatt that we have stayed in in 20 years of traveling. It's way overpriced @ $350+ per night and watch out because they even whack you for $20 per night for parking which you won't learn until it's tacked onto your bill at checkout. We stayed across the street from the main building in... More

I stayed at the Hyatt SB for about 90 nights (and counting!). I've had a great experience as the hotel staff have made my stay in SB stress-free and relaxing. I'm here on assignment for work so I guess you can say that Hyatt SB is my home away from home. The front desk staff members are very nice and... More

We Pricelined our stay, came to around $145 a head including fees. Pretty good for a hotel in Santa Barbara. The lower fee is probably why we were located in their 'newly refurbished building' which is a couple of blocks away (and farther from the ocean) than their main building. If I had paid full price to stay in this... More

Came to Santa Barbara for the weekend for my wifes birthday. The hotel itself is in a great location. Across the street from the beach and an easy 10-15 minute walk to all of the wine tasting spots. In regards to the hotel itself, I would say that it is an upscale motel at best. When I was booking the... More

Thank so much for your continued loyalty to Hyatt, as a Platinum member we are sure that you have seen many different types of physical buildings in all types of locations. As you have noticed here in Santa Barbara we do have quite a unique and historic building that was built in the 1930’s. We certainly recognize that improvements are... More
