Location is very nice! Right across from the beach. If you like strolling the beach or long walks this is perfect. We were stuck in the farthest building from the main building so that sucked. Pool area is nice. Has a perfect view of where you should be(the ocean). Found a free concert to go to a long walk away... More

I was here for a work function. The rooms seemed a bit high priced to me, but then again, it's Santa Barbara. Beautiful location. Directly across from the beach with walking paths along the beach that lead to the pier. It is an absolutely beautiful location.

Stayed in the Santa Cruz suite (one of only 3-4 suites on the whole property) and it was magnificent! Yes, the property exterior is a bit rundown and "motel-y" but once inside the suite you are transported. Nice dark wood floors, huge living area, a separate wet bar area/breakfast nook, and the bedroom was nice and well appointed. The bathroom... More

My husband and I just spent three nights at this hotel when we attended a wedding in nearby Montecito. We found this hotel to be extremely expensive and somewhat disappointing in value. The location is very good, the service was fair to good, and the room was spartan but comfortable and clean. The first thing you need to know is... More

Had a great room with a view at the boulevard/beach. The room was also very clean and modern, loved it! The personnel was extremely friendly, helpful and well mannered. The hotel is directly at the beach, just cross the street (look right and left before you cross it though!) and you're feet are in the nice and warm beach sand.... More

Stayed here for a friend's wedding last month. The location right across from the beach is great. However, advertising balcony rooms that get views of the Santa Ynez mountains is stretching things - I saw little more than a parking lot and other buildings and hotels. Certainly not a great view from a tiny balcony, and the room was small... More

I spent 3 nights at the Hyatt Santa Barbara last week for a family wedding and was VERY disappointed. This hotel absolutely does not deserve the Hyatt name to be attached to it. The outside of the hotel has been recently upgraded and is very attractive. We checked in after 4:00 pm and were told that our room was not... More

Thank you for sharing this with us. I appreciate that you found the rooms to be clean as our team does work very hard cleaning each and every room on a daily basis. Please accept my sincere apologies for the room not being ready by 4pm and the motel-like feel that you experienced. Please know that many improvements have been... More

Considering the cost, and considering the brand reputation, we were quite disappointed with this hotel. Santa Barbara is so beautiful it made up for it some, but here is not way it should be as expensive as it is given the cost of the rooms.

Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. I agree, Santa Barbara is a really beautiful ocean side city, often considered the American Riviera. As you have witnessed, August is the peak of our busy season, with that, all local hotels adjust their pricing accordingly. Our pricing was and is always very competitive considering our ocean front location.... More

The rooms are big, but the sound isolation not that good. Also the noise from the AC is too much for a hotel room. The hotel in general is ok. The restaurant isnt that good. The food takes to long and the food is not good. The location is very good. It is in front of the beach, and you... More

We were here during the SB triathlon (unbeknownst to us), so room rates were over $300. We booked our room using points, so didn't feel robbed given the very sad and dated room. The Pros: perfect location directly across the street from the beach and bike/jogging path right out front. It's also just down the street, short walk from the... More

Hello and thank you for writing this review. I certainly appreciate the very kind words regarding our team here at the Hyatt. Yes, it certainly was busy during the triathlon, but it was a great weekend. Thank you as well for complimenting our location and proximity to the very nice Santa Barbara Zoo. I appreciate your loyalty to Hyatt and... More
