I am fully aware of the not so stellar ratings and reviews but proceeded to book with this establishment solely because other hotels in this area (near the harbor area anyway) mostly require a minimum 2 nights stay on a weekend during summer season. My group needed to be staying close to the harbor as we had to wake up... More

My first impression of our room was not great. There were two burn holes in the comforter and another one in a built-in faux leather sofa chair. There was no carpet, which seemed odd but came in handy if we tracked in sand from the beach. Don't stay here if you expect privacy; the bathroom door is basically a flimsy... More

We lived on the first floor. That was poor, but some friends of our lived got a room on the ground level, and they could not stay there because of humidity, so they moved to another place. Staff was not very friendly at first. It got better.

Had a first floor double room which was very small with no storage space. There's a half table under the TV with two chairs and in the bathroom are two shelves and two coat racks with hangers. The beds were a little hard but didn't wake up with a backache. We didn't even use the luggage rack for our carry-on... More

Spend a night on Motel 6, State Street again. Have been there before and will definitely come back. It's just a nice experience - everything works, is clean, the lady at the reception is so welcoming, gives you all the right information in a quick and polite manner, and at the same time makes you feel you're a special guest... Passed through Santa Barbara 11-2-2013 (Halloween weekend) and tried to get a Hotel, but everything was sold out. Stopped by at the Motel 6 (not necessarily my first choice) and they had one room left, so I took it... And guess what... The room was niiiiice. Newly renovated with hardwood floor, nice clean bathroom and also the Lady at the... More

People need to rate this Motel based on it being a Motel 6, not the Ritz-Carlton. This property has obviously had some recent updates done to the rooms. The property and room were clean. Rooms are on the smaller side, so instead of running the air all night, we just ran the fan and that worked out perfect, it kept... More

Chose this place because of the price compared with nearer the beach, and was happy with the choice. The room was a good size and was clean. No coffee machine, but we were only here for one night so not a big problem. The breakfast was O.K. Plenty of inexpensive places to eat in the area, and very easy to... More

Not that much to say about a small and non special place like this. Room is small for 2 people but manage to fit 2 double beds in so 4 people. The room was so small we were scared to turn the AC on in case we would get sick, and it made a lot of noice. No coffee in... More

We spent a night here mid-week while helping my son. I can't remember when I last stayed in a more basic hotel. There is no closet, just two pegs (only one of which was there) and two open shelves in the bath. One side of the bed had a fixed table, and there was a fixed table and chair. I... More
