The Sandman Inn definitely exceeded our expectations, it felt like we were staying in a little village! The room was very comfortable, complimentary bottled water, the free dvd library and the amazing free breakfast spread were highlights of our stay. Would definitely recommend!

This room is fine if you need a place to spend the night. Room is on the smaller side, and furniture/decor is outdated. Our room had an unpleasant odor. Shower was very small and outdated. Free breakfast included store bought mini muffins, and packaged breakfast bars. Room did have a nice television and DVD player.

Clean rooms, desks, great internet bandwidth, fridge, big microwave, new lcd tvs, A/C, nothing more needed. The breakfast is great, the parking is free, you have a pair of pillows to choose between hard and soft (nicely done), nothing to complain about it. If you are looking for a quite and cheap place to stay, I think that this is... More

They've taken what would normally be a nondescript motel and have landscaped the living daylights out of it, transforming it into a gorgeous little oasis on one of Santa Barbara's main strips. There are beautiful views from every vantage point, two small (but lovely) pools, and dozens upon dozens of palm trees towering over the motel with the rolling hills... More

We stayed three nights over a weekend we were spending in Santa Barbara for a combination of business and pleasure. Trust me, this is not an "inn" or even a "lodge" accommodation; it is a very old-fashioned, large motel facility. Renovations have been made, admittedly, but the signature motel "givens" remain intact: thin walls, very small and dark units, cars... More

We had a great stay at the Sandman Inn, great location just off the 101 and 5 min drive to downtown Santa Barbara. Manicured grounds, nice pool and patio area. Room was very clean and large, king bed was very comfortable and the bathroom/shower was great. Full breakfast, waffles cereals fruit and coffee. We will definately return to Santa Barbara and... For a last-minute, off-season stay, we found good if basic accommodations at the the Sandman Inn, and our rate was fantastic. Our room had an exposed beam ceiling and was located on the outside of the complex. It was spotless, if not very exciting in decor. The grounds are lovely, especially the central pool and spa area, which are heated.... More

I made group reservations and thereafter the sales manager wouldn't return my calls or emails. About two days before our stay she finally contacted me to firm things up. They were also inflexible on billing issues, flexibility which I have had from every other hotel I deal with in my job. The front desk was generally polite. The biggest thing... More

Santa Barbara is a pricey destination. My daughter attends school there, so I've been looking for a reasonable clean place to stay. This is a '60's motor Inn kind of property, but it is very nicely kept, and is a good value for the area. At the top of state street, so its easy to jump on the 101 to... More
