This is a modest (60+ rooms) charming old hotel, anchoring the western end of Montecito's lower village. At first we were nervous due to the proximity of the inn to the noisy 101 freeway - it's located right behind the hotel - but the well-soundproofed windows of our room took immediately set our concerns to rest; we didn't hear the... We booked through Ebookers and got a discounted rate. We stayed for 1 night on our way down from San Francisco and it was a very comfortable stay. We arrived early hours of the morning but were greeted by a very friendly receptionist who efficiently checked us in so we could head of to bed after our long drive. Hotel... More

Stayed for one night on our Pacific Coast Highway adventure. This hotel has tremendous charm! There is almost a bed and breakfast type feel. While hallways and rooms are small, the furnishings and decor are lovely. Only downsides are very small bathrooms and shower water goes hot and cold. Positives include 24 hour Kona coffee and fresh, quaint continental breakfast.... More

I read the mixed reviews but decided to stay at the Montecito Inn because of its location (proximity to the beach, to Lotus Land) and because it was more affordable than many of the other hotels were looking. Four of us (my husband and I and two girls, aged 6 and 17) stayed in a Luxury King Suite and it... More

What attracted me to book was the historical link to Charlie Chaplin. An old hotel beautiful converted to include all the modern conveniences. The room we had was a combined two room into a large room with king and queen bed and it has two bathrooms! There is a 24 hour tea/coffee, fruits facilities on the ground floor which made... More

What a lovely little gem, we stayed here for one night and if we had more time would of stayed there longer. The rooms were beautifully decorated we stayed in room 310 king size bed, very comfortable! It's a smaller inn and very quaint - loved the decor and furnishings. Staff very friendly and breakfast in the morning a bonus.... More

This was a great hotel to stay at. It's old and historic and charming-- try the tiny elevator!-- and it wasn't terribly overpriced, either. The lobby is comfortable and well-appointed, the rooms were small but well-decorated, and both the nice little town of Montecito and the beach are a short walk-- or, better yet, free bike rental-- away. My only... More

Easy to find and very quiet. The staff was very nice, mostly young people. The bed was great and slept very well. Great restaurants with in walking distance. I an looking forward to returning soon. We really enjoyed the history of the hotel and Charlie Chaplin

As I looked over the freeway interchange, I tried to imagine what California looked like when Chaplin bought this property. The hotel is very difficult to access. Arrive at 3pm for check in. Do not even attempt to arrive M-F between 4-7 or you will pay in rush hours. of timeyears ago. If you stay: 1. the windows do not... More

The Montecito Inn is in the perfect location to stroll threw town, with great resturants all within walking distance of the hotel. Yes it is an older building however many rooms have been upgraded. The beds are about as comfortable as it gets and talk about very quiet, it is just that. Breakfast was the usual fare but was adequate... More
