I visited here with my husband and two young children. What a beautiful hotel! The rooms are amazing and the surrounding area is extremely beautiful too. I wouldn't call this an extremely child friendly hotel, but I wouldn't expect many people to bring their children here. This hotel would be a great place for a romantic getaway! Staff is extremely... more

Comments - Overall, the hotel is a great Montecito location - walking distance to the beach and on the Montecito downtown street so restaurants, etc are easily walkable. - Hotel building is old. This means the rooms are small - not built like more modern hotel rooms. Yes, the bathroom is small (but it was extremely clean and cheerful). -... more

We recently stayed one night at the Montecito Inn on our drive back from LA to SF. The Inn is not in downtown Santa Barbara which is about a five minute drive which is a good thing. Santa Barbara is beautiful, but we liked being in a quieter neighborhood. This was a great romantic getaway and we would definitely return... more

We had a great stay at the very pretty Montecito Inn. The rooms were very comfortable, the lobby very beautiful and the service was friendly. We had no issues with noise, but I did notice the walls were very thin as some have complained. Luckily we had quiet neighbors! It's very close to downtown Santa Barbara and we stayed one... more

My girlfriend and I chose this hotel based on ratings in Trip Advisor; it is hard to believe that we stayed at the same hotel. We waited at the front desk for 5 minutes while the desk clerk chatted with another guest; she was oblivious to the fact that there was someone waiting to checkin. Our experience only got worse.... more

We have visited the Montecito Inn several times in the past couple of years--the location is great; just walking distance to the beach but more importantly it's near our family. Overall the inn is tired--needs major updates, especially in the bathrooms which are miniscule and you get a super hot and burning blast of water in the shower every time... more

My wife and I have visited Santa Barbara many times but this was the first time we stayed at the Inn. Our experience was similar to most of the other reviewers. On the plus side, is the quaint and charming hotel with special touches like the rose in the room, included valet parking and wonderful pastries at the included continental... more

Invited to a Montecito wedding so thought it would be easy to stay in town and be nearby. The hotel is old and quaint but it is literally 15 feet from Hwy 101 - a major freeway in CA. Rooms are average size. Bathrooms are small. Pool is nice but sound of cars ruins the tranquility. They are trying their... more

I had a friend visiting me in Los Angeles, all the way from England, so I thought she should experience Santa Barbara. And what a way to experience it! I had never heard of this hotel and I didn't know that it was actually built by Charlie Chaplin! It's wonderful. Beautiful grounds. Old Hollywood charm. The bathroom was my favorite... more

My boyfriend and I booked rooms at the Montecito Inn for a two-night stay - we were attending a wedding at the San Ysidro Ranch up the road. After reading some less-than complimentary reviews, we were very pleasantly surprised with the overall experience. The rooms are a perfect size and the decor/rug is a bit older but refreshing - so... more
