I stayed with my family of 11 at the Montecito Inn. We had the 2 bedroom apartment, a suite and a regular room. Everything was clean; the staff was welcoming and very helpful. The continental breakfast was varied. Coffee & tea and chilled water were available all the time. The pool was clean and the jacuzzi was always bubbling and... More

Beautiful hotel with lots of character. Excellent value given we stayed in peak season, the room was very comfortable, a good size and nicely decorated. The pool is small but good for relaxing for a couple of hours after sightseeing. The breakfast area is quite small, and so there is sometimes a wait for tables. There are plenty of restaurants... We arrived in the evening with no reservation. We arrived during the holidays, but we easily got two rooms and a dinner reservation in their restaurant. Our meal was really delicious. The rooms are small, but very nice and clean. The bathrooms have pretty, colorful Mexican tile. Someone else has already mentioned the temperature fluctuations in the shower and this... More

From the outside, the hotel is very charming. The rooms are pretty small and the floors are squeaky. Our toilet seat had blood on it. We had to call the front desk to have it cleaned. The cleaning lady was very nice and worked very hard to clean everything. The breakfast is pretty standard, cereal, hard boiled eggs, yogurt... make... More

Thank you for your comments ... all comments go a long way towards helping us create a perfect environment for our guests. Although I think it's imprudent to go to the extent of making such a public allegation regarding the toilet seat without any way of knowing if what you're alleging is actually correct, I am much more disappointed to... We spent one night at the beautifully restored Monetico Inn and would've given it four stars except for the staff and breakfast area, both of which are in need of reform. The cafe downstairs is not owned by the hotel, and only allows a handful of tables for use at breakfast time. When we arrived at 9am, all of the... More

Thank you for your kind comments regarding our newly-renovated property. I'm sorry to hear, though, that the breakfast area was a little busy at the time you wished to enjoy it. Our staff is indeed trained to offer seating in the lobby or at the pool, which I'm happy to hear that they did. You mentioned that this was ridiculous,... More

My wife and I have stayed at the Inn almost every year for 15 years at Thanksgiving time. We have a family ranch a couple of miles away in Montecito and with family and all, this Inn had been a nice and safe place to hang our heads. Well NO more. Not only were we missing items left hidden and... More

Dear Reviewer, I understand that what you described with your laptop is odd; however I also have had several odd things occur to my personal laptop at home. Computers and technology in general can be finicky at times. I want to assure you and our review readers that we have a wonderful, trust worthy staff and you should feel safe... More

For years my wife and I have been driving by this quaint hotel on the hill in Montecito on our way up the coast to San Francisco and never stopped. This time we reserved a room for a night to break up the trip. Given the age of the hotel I was very pleasantly surprised with the overall condition of... More

Corner king room...street vs freeway. Noise was too much, very little rest. The hotel is well appointed with attentive staff. Will avoid this next time. Excellent location! Many good restaurants within walking distance.

We loved our stay at the Montecito Inn. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our visit. It is so nice how they have kept the Charlie Chaplin spirit and charm of the hotel with the contemporary luxurious furniture along the original cool 1920's elevator. Our room was nicely updated and the bed was very comfortable. We appreciated the... More

Beautiful rooms with very comfy beds. About a 10 minute drive to downtown Santa Barbara. Valet parking offered but you can self park. The pool is small but very nice. Breakfast included. Can eat down near pool with private seating.
