Eight years ago we stayed at the Montecito Inn. We were provided a "luxury room" which had a jet bath tub, fire place, etc. Very nice room and great experience. Road noise was not an issue as the luxury rooms are in a newer part of the building that does not face the highway. I would only consider staying at... more

Anytime I see reviews with lots of 1 and 2 star reviews quickly followed by a flurry of 5 star reviews I know the owners are frantically try to counter bad news. And this place is bad news. Yes it's old and quaint but that doesn't automatically make it cute and charming. More like tired, poorly run and managed and... more

This is a gem. Don't expect a place with huge rooms and total quiet (always but always take earplugs!) The highway didn't bother us in our room. Come to enjoy the 1920's feel of a lovely little hotel in pristine Montecito, right next to Santa Barbara. Everything in the hotel has been updated and is comfortable and very pretty. Imagine... more

The staff was fabulous and the location was great, about a 5 minute walk to the beach and shops. We loved our stay! Their restaurant inside was fabulous, and the wait staff was super nice. more

We stayed at the Montecito Inn for $100 something vs. the Biltmore for $500+. This little hotel tries so darned hard!! The staff was excellent and the building is really interesting - built in the 1930's w/ Charlie Chaplin's help...but the location is terrible. Unbeknownst to me when I made the reservation, it's literally right next to the freeway. So,... more

I visited here with my husband and two young children. What a beautiful hotel! The rooms are amazing and the surrounding area is extremely beautiful too. I wouldn't call this an extremely child friendly hotel, but I wouldn't expect many people to bring their children here. This hotel would be a great place for a romantic getaway! Staff is extremely... more

Comments - Overall, the hotel is a great Montecito location - walking distance to the beach and on the Montecito downtown street so restaurants, etc are easily walkable. - Hotel building is old. This means the rooms are small - not built like more modern hotel rooms. Yes, the bathroom is small (but it was extremely clean and cheerful). -... more

We recently stayed one night at the Montecito Inn on our drive back from LA to SF. The Inn is not in downtown Santa Barbara which is about a five minute drive which is a good thing. Santa Barbara is beautiful, but we liked being in a quieter neighborhood. This was a great romantic getaway and we would definitely return... more

We had a great stay at the very pretty Montecito Inn. The rooms were very comfortable, the lobby very beautiful and the service was friendly. We had no issues with noise, but I did notice the walls were very thin as some have complained. Luckily we had quiet neighbors! It's very close to downtown Santa Barbara and we stayed one... more
