We had a lovely stay at the Upham. Our room was very small - just enough room for a queen bed and your things, but we were staying one night, so it was fine. The hotel grounds were beautiful! Probably our tenth time at the Upham in a dozen years. As usual the grounds are restful and the location ideal, but little by little any evidence whatsoever of a desire to delight the customer has dissipated. Lovely setting, great service. Located at the north end of town it is two blocks off the main shopping street and an easy, pleasant 30 minute walk to the mission. I got the opportunity to spend two relaxing days at the Country House. This quiet room facing a garden with chairs and grass is just the peace I needed. The service was excellent. Rooms are equipped with television, wireless internet. I hardly even left the home.:) more

I Loved this place, a real haven, just away from the hustle and bustle of State Street. Reminded me of the Country house hotels I've stayed in over here in England. In fact we loved it that much we went back for a second stay towards the end of our trip. more
