I hadn't stayed in a Motel 6 in many years, but this one was definitely in need of a refresh. The mattresses were hard as a rock, and furniture and fixtures outdated. The breakfast buffet was terrible - order from the menu instead. On the plus side, the staff was all very friendly, the parking lot and grounds were in... More

Very beautiful ocean between San Francisco and Los Angeles. Many tourists. Therefore Motels (hotels) are very expensive. We found a Motel 6 in San Simeon with a great price. Easy access off the street and good parking. The staff was very friendly and the room was clean and secure. Thank you.

Not good, it´s a simple hotel. Not very clean, cold atmosphere. Even $89 seems expensive for what it was. Wifi extra charge. The first contact with the staff (a lady) was terrible, but another guy fixed her bad treatment and he was helpful and friendly. It works only for one night stop, while driving the Big Sur. But right in... More

My friend and I really enjoyed our stay and will return there again. The motel had the feel of a more expensive facility. The staff were friendly and made us feel welcomed. The restaurant next door had great food and service.

Couldn't find a room for one night near Cambria so took a chance on this Motel 6 in San Simeon. An old Holiday Inn apparently. Newly remodeled, painted, and floors (thank goodness no carpet). Spartan but immaculate. New bathroom fixtures, good internet. The best thing was the office/ desk employees....couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. Went out of their... More

Was clean and tidy. A bit noisy between room. Breakfast was great at adjoining restaurant, this was a great meal for dinner as well. Great location to do Hearst Castle and last stop before Los Angeles. Would stay here again.

We stayed for one night, over the Labor Day weekend, in order to visit Hearst Castle. Of course the price was jacked up for the holiday weekend, but it was in-line (even a little cheaper) than other similiar accomodations in the area. No problem there. The room was clean and looked to be a newly remodeled, with faux hardwood floors,... More

We stayed here on the evening of August 11, 2014...but we would have been better off staying in our car! The gentlemen that were working that evening were nice and helpful...but that is the only positive thing about the whole experience. The hallways smell and the carpeting is stained (it's a pet friendly hotel, so I am assuming that the... More

We enjoyed our stay at this place. The faux wood floors made the room seem so much cleaner. It's very spacious. There's an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet for 8$ right next to reception. I gotta say though for all the light sleepers out there, you can pretty much hear everything your neighbors are doing, especially if there are kids around (I... More

A complete remodel since my last visit a year ago. Very nicely done. Faux wood floors make it for a clean appearance. Walls are all freshly painted and furniture nicely selected to weather the normal abuse of travelers who are prone to not treating the room as their own. Bath counter and sink also new while the shower has been... More
