We stayed here one night so that we could be close to Hearst Castle. Got there at 8:30 at night so there were no other available hotels, otherwise we would have switched. The room was filthy. Cushions on the chairs and furniture were stained and dirty. Floor carpeting was also filthy. Linens and bathroom seemed to be clean but old.... more
We stayed here for two nights as we were visitng the hearst castle. This hotel is very clean and comfortable. The person at the check in counter was very friendly. We were giving a room with a king bed and an ocean view. The room was spacious and had new carpet. It also had a refridgerator and microwave. The pool... more
Stayed at this hotel on advice of our travel agent. Well, it was the worst hotel of our trip. Dirty room, bad mattresses, insufficient water pressure in shower, dirty pool area (which could have been so nice, given the location), wireless internet very slow and flaky. On the positive side: near to Hearst Castle, and to an excellent restaurant: Manta... more
This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel and it again was great value. Compared with the prices of the other hotels this hotel is great value. When all said and done all you want is a clean hotyel, which this one is, a comfy bed, which this has and is close to the reason you'd be... more
Terrible smell in the room, filthy windows, filthy furniture, minimal water pressure in the rooms - turn on the sink and get frozen or burned in the shower, no usable tennis court as advertised - one net missing and one sagging, limited television, internet service didn't work, staff unable to help make corrections. Use the Best Western across the street! more
We stayed here overnight while visiting the castle. We found the rooms be very spacious and clean. They have brand new televisions and coffee makers in the rooms. It looks like they got new bedding because our sheets look brand new! This isn't the most upscale hotel but its got clean rooms, big indoor pool and spa, and a free... more
BEWARE! There is absolutely nothing courteous about the "Courtesy" Inn. They ruined our family vacation by insisting I hadn't made reservations and refusing us rooms, then they charged me for the rooms they claim I didn't reserve, and now they refuse to issue a refund! I booked 3 (THREE) rooms at this hotel through hotels.com, planning a family visit to... more
Expecting to get a good night's sleep, we (family of 4, including 2 children) were awakened at 1:30 am by a loud party next door (paper thin walls). Rather than confront the growing crowd carrying alcohol, I went looking for the manager. He was nowhere to be found. My wife tried calling the office, but there was no answer. The... more
Typical roadside motel. Really close to Hearst Castle, which is a great tour. We're not talking a five star hotel so stay here if you plan on crashing for the night after walking the beaches all day. Tip: Stay on the second floor, the ceilings are paper thin. Other than that, it was clean enough and good enough for a... more
