Lovely room, comfy bed, fireplace, loved it. We stayed in the main part of the hotel and couldn't have asked for more. The only negative was that breakfast was very disorganised and quite frankly, not very nice. The eggs were so cold it was as if they'd been frozen after boiling, pastries was tasteless, there were self serve counters dotted... More

What can you expect in San Simeon or Cambria?? Both look like dying towns, and so the hotels suffer too. I agree with all the poor reviews. Walls like paper. Bring a sleeping pill. Two buildings, one worse than the other. Dial down your expectations. Ahh you're probably there for the night, to see Hearst Castle. Skip this step. Drive... More

Very friendly staff and clean and good sized rooms at a decent rate made it a good choice to stop on trip from LA to San Francisco. Close to highway 1 and the beach. We had rooms facing the highway, but light traffic throughout the night allowed us to sleep with open windows.

Perhaps other reviewers were staying in the main building because the north building is nothing special. The room was clean and the tile in the tub seems to have been updated recently, but the formica around the bathroom sink was easily 40-50 years old. We picked this place because it had a pool, but the walk back from the pool... More

Dear Traveler, If you want a good night sleep make sure you ask for a second floor room for your stay, We stayed on the first floor and the person above walked from one end of their room to the other for two hours at 10 o'clock at night. Where they were going from one end of the room to... More

My wife and I stayed here for a night on a coastal highway 1 drive from Morro Bay to the Bay area. We were very happy with the hotel and facilities. We stayed in the main building. The staff at the reception was really cheerful and helpful. We had a Deluxe room facing towards the highway. We asked if we... More

This hotel was recommended from Frank at the Inn at East beach and it didn't disappoint. The hotel at first glance looks a lot more high end than most motels you see with the exterior of the hotel and Interior reception area having lots of nice premium touches. Friendly, polite and helpful staff at the desk. Location is good, right... More

We enjoyed our stay at the Morgan. It is an older hotel like most are in the area. Except for the wall heater, it has been updated pretty well. If there were any improvements to suggest it would be to heat the pool more, add a hot tub and a business center. The walls were thin and loud music from... More

The staff is friendly and helpful. It is old-style hotel and it feels outdated. Maintenance is not 100%. Breakfast is reasonable, but a small selection. Overall, the hotel is suitable for those who want to stop for one night to visit Hearst Castle and the colony of elephant seals at Piedras Blancas.
