The staff is friendly and helpful. It is old-style hotel and it feels outdated. Maintenance is not 100%. Breakfast is reasonable, but a small selection. Overall, the hotel is suitable for those who want to stop for one night to visit Hearst Castle and the colony of elephant seals at Piedras Blancas.

I recently stayed at The Morgan Hotel for two nights whilst travelling the central coast. The check in was swift and easy with a nice welcome and friendly staff on reception. The hotel has two locations we stayed in the main block, our room was ground floor, spacious and well appointed, clean and smelt good. As with all hotel rooms... More

We enjoyed our two nights at The Morgan. Great location for a weekend getaway. Nice clean hotel with friendly staff. Our reasonably priced room (405) was very comfortable, well maintained with good beds. No air conditioning so it got a bit hot. We found a fan in the closet and that helped. Friendly staff.

Stayed here for 2 nights in February. It is a nice boutique hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. There were menus for local area restaurants in a binder in the lobby. Our room had a fireplace which we did not use as it was warm. Had to open the window to actually cool it down. The ceiling fan was broken... More

We stayed here on a Friday night after a visit to Hearst Castle. The room was very nice. We had a fireplace room but it was too warm, even in February, to use it. The staff was very friendly. The hotel was clean. The kings size bed was very comfortable. We did not use the pool. We did not eat... More

We stayed for 3 nights while visiting family in Cambria. We were a little taken aback when we checked in and the person told us we needed to drive down the road (2 doors down, just next to the Mexican restaurant) to our room, and even a little more nervous when we were the only people in the entire building... Wonderful place to stay while visiting the Hearst Castle in San Simeon. Nice rooms, great fireplace, wonderful staff and a little breakfast to get your day started, lovely little town down the road, close to the ocean, shopping, dining and Hearst Castle.

We stayed for 2 nights. During our stay Directv was working throughout the hotel. On the second day they were working in the empty room right next to us at 8:00 at night!!! They didin't finish until around 10!!! They were banging on the walls and drilling, feeding wires, etc. The workers felt bad but the management had horrible planning!... More

Thank you for sharing your comments about your recent stay at our hotel. We had no intentions of disturbing any of our guests during our transition to DirecTV. As soon as I heard of this disturbance, I instantaneously followed-up on your e-mail and inquired if there was anything we could do to improve your stay. After discovering from one of... More

Room was clean, staff was friendly and accommodating and the property was maintained fairly well. Breakfast was very average in both quality and options. Bed was comfortable, fireplaces in the rooms. Good place to stay if you are looking to visit the Hearst Castle.
