Our family was happy with stay at the Morgan. Hotel was older but updated nicely and very clean. Had great character and unique architecture. Breakfast was adequate, only continental. Close to elephant seal rookery and Hearst castle. Restaurants in area were limited and expensive. The cannery in best western was good for dinner and very close to the Morgan. Would... More

The place was very nice with comfortable beds, fridge, microwave and coffee in each room. The breakfast in the morning was nothing special but there was a lot of it! Overall, a little pricy (we paid $150 on Groupon) but one of the nicest places in San Simeon and it was nice to not be at the larger commercial places.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights. As far as the location, it was great. Close to Hearst Castle, Elephant Rookery, Hearst Ranch winery etc. The hotel is dated. Our major complaint is the noise. Not that the guests were really loud, it's just that there must not be any insulation. We were on the first floor. On... More

We checked in at the Morgan late afternoon and were assigned to a room in a secondary building (not in the main registration building). Parking was very convenient under a covered area by the entrance door. It was an interesting stay at the hotel. The first thing we noticed was that we were given two regular metal door keys (not... We booked this hotel after reading reviews and we were surprised when we arrived. The hotel felt very dated. Air conditioning was not great ( ceiling fan) we had to ask for another fan. The bathroom felt very dated and toilet was really low !!. There are no taxis in the Area so you have to drive to restaurants .... More

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience regarding your stay. We are in the process of updating our property, with the next phase being the bathrooms. This should address most of the problems you mentioned, but if you would like to send me an email at gm@hotel-morgan.com we can discuss any specifics to your room so they... More

We stayed here for two nights while visiting Hearst Castle as it is very close by. The hotel is clean and well maintained with helpful reception staff and free parking. The rooms are very large, quiet and comfortable with great beds. There was no air conditioning but being upstairs you could open the windows for the sea breeze. There was... More

We stayed in an ocean-facing room and the view was absolutely gorgeous. The room itself was high quality, everything felt clean, comfortable and new. Prints of original Hearst castle sketches from architect Julia Morgan added a fun local touch. Not directly on the beach but a short walk away. Pool is small but nice. Staff were extremely helpful.

This was booked at last minute by our travel agent i have always been taught if you cannot say anything positive say nothing do yourself a favor unless you still love the early 80's give this place a wide berth. Don't even stop where the recommend for food PS no lift to second floor very hard with suitcases or disabilities

Most hotels do not have soft towels but this one does. It is convenient being so close to Hearst Castle which was the purpose of our trip. Although there is no restaurant associated to the hotel, we walked to the Cavalier restaurant a short distance away and the food was excellent. Our SPA treatments were excellent. Would definitely go back... More

Friends and I used this hotel because it was very close to Hearst Castle and was a nice stop off between LA and Monterey. It is also very close to the elephant seals viewing point. The building is older, but well kept. The continental breakfast is decent and has nice options. It may be hard to see the ocean from... More
