Every place to stay in Big Sur is overpriced. I imagine it it this way due to the fact that there is a lack of places to stay. This being said, I do not want more lodging in the Big Sur area, I just want to warn others that it is overpriced so that others are aware while booking their... More

This was the third stop on our trip up the coast to San Francisco. The temperature change from our drive from the wine country in Santa Barbara to here was somewhat of a shock! The Ragged Point has a very outdoorsy feel to it given that it is high in the mountains. We checked in promptly and the staff was... More

Don't listen to the haters! It's California funky and laid back- a perfect retreat after a long day of driving and hiking around the Big Sur area. Just get the King, cliff side room w/ fireplace and you're all set. Bring wine and cheese and sit out on your private deck and enjoy. The "retro" decor just adds to the... More

The location is unparralled - dramatic coastline & views. That said, the rooms were very rustic, but with great views. The restaurant was AWFUL. It was SO overpriced & just plain bad. Example-I ordered a Pasta dish that came with everything that the kitchen could toss in...EVERYTHING. Hubby ordered a steak that was so overcooked, fatty & smothered in some... More

My husband and I stayed 1 night during 4th of July weekend on our drive down to SLO. We stayed in a lobby room which did not have a view, but we were aware of that when we made our reservation. The room was clean, with decent amenities and a large bathroom. A little pricey for what you get, but... More

This is the perfect location, whether traveling North or South. To the North is Big Sur, Pismo Beach, Monterrey... To the South is San Simeon, the elephant sea lion preserve, Cambria, Morro Bay... The environment is tranquil, the staff very friendly and helpful, and the rooms are clean and welcoming. I wouldn't pay more for the room with a "spa"... More

After reading previous review I approached this place with a little hesitation. However, I followed the reviewer that said to ignore the negative reviews and was not disappointed. If you want rest, relaxation, good food beautiful views this is a great place. The rooms are not fancy. They are actually a little rustic. We had an upstairs unit with a... More

My wife and I came up to stay for our anniversary. I cycled 50 miles up the coast (beautiful ride) to the Inn and she drove up and met me. We do not understand the mixed reviews of this place. We stayed in a ground floor room with a patio next to the large grassy area. The room was spotless... More

The grounds here are beautiful, but our room was lacking. We stayed down stairs. Big mistake. It seemed like people were crawling or rolling on the floor until after 2:00am. (or maybe they were playing with their dog) **Our room was non-smoking but the smoke drifted down from the smokers directly above us. **There was no place to put the... More

We spent one night here on our way to Monterey. Arrived just before Sunset and WOW! Grace in the lobby was so nice and friendly. The room we were in was Ocean front, but I was expecting it to be closer to the cliff side. The room was clean, but not updated. The bed was comfortable though.
