We stopped at this place for lunch on our way to Hearst castle. The food was pricey and mediocre at best. I had a Waldorf salad in a papaya. The papaya was as hard as a potato and inedible. The rest of the salad was ok but there was very little of it. The service was not good either. The... More

I was driving up the California coast and wanted to stop for the night. It was getting close to nightfall and I didn't want to miss any of the beautiful coastline. Found this place and fortunately there was a vacancy. Big room, fireplace and beautiful ocean view. Randy was the clerk that checked me in. Decent fella, not overly friendly... More

We had a wonderful time at Ragged Point, including great meals in the restaurant and fun while watching sports in the bar. There also is a mini market, craft sales and I believe ice cream stand and gas station. I did leave a suggestion that they might want to install a shower massage (it would have a 3-4 foot flexible... On our first anniversary, my wife and I brought our dog along for the adventure as we stayed in the big house. It inspired us to share this wonderful venue with our friends and family, as a location to have a reunion. The big house has 5 bedrooms, with spacious common areas for all to relax and enjoy the breathtaking... More

Ragged Point Inn is located on a stunning stretch of coastline. The hotel rooms are large and comfortable with mini fridges and microwaves and spa tubs. The views of the ocean are stunning and it is difficult to tear yourself away from looking out the windows. Service was great except for a small problem with our key cards which was... More

We were not going to stop in Big Sur due to the high costs but we couldn't resist this stop. We had a room with an unbelievable view, seats out front to look at the view, a gas fireplace (very cute) and comfy bed. Our room was very clean and had everything we needed. We had dinner at the restaurant... More

The Ragged Point Inn is the place to stay on your Big Sur trip (unless you want to splurge on the Ventana or Post Inn up the road). The location is terrific, just south of the famous drive on highway 1. Most rooms get amazing cliff views of ragged point and the pacific. The rooms are clean and spacious and... More

December is a great time to visit Big Sur as there are incredible views and no fog. It was chilly, but not freezing. We loved the fireplace in the room and gorgeous views from our cliff side room. We loved the room. Four stars and not five because the fridge we requested for medication did not work and we woke... More

I don't like to post bad reviews but I felt this was one of the first times tripadvisor was really misleading for us. We booked our non refundable room a couple weeks ahead so when I was checking in to the hotel and saw this bug on the credit card machine I knew we were in trouble. Needless to say... More

Clean and spacious accommodations with spectacular views--nothing fancy. We had a really nice balcony. There is a gift shop and small restaurant adjacent. The hiking trail down to the ocean is treacherous.
