This place is amazing! The rooms are a little dated but who cares. Honestly I couldn't even tell you what color the bedspread was because I was so focused on the view. Unobstructed ocean views! It was so incredibly peaceful and relaxing. It was everything we wanted and more.

This property is well used. The 'so modern' architecture of the 60's might get lost with the younger crowd, but it is classic. It is essential to understand the remoteness of the Big Sur Coast. So, while there was wear or shabby this or that, the chance to stay here is a gift. If you need a cookie cutter chain... More

This hotel is on the southern tip of the Big Sur area. It is fairly close to Hearst Castle and close to the sea walrus beach. We really enjoyed the location, but were less enamoured about the restaurant. It was fine, but not great. What was great was the trail down the cliff to the beach at sea level. Outstanding.... More

We lucked out and were able to stay here due to a last minute cancellation. We were driving up the coast and everything was booked. We got a cliffside room with fireplace and jacuzzi. Great view for sunrise and sunset. Nice property. It was very peaceful and remote. We didn't have any cell service but we were ok with that.... More

There were definitely a lot of pros staying here but there a few cons as well. Let's start with the good. The view! Amazing! It's so picturesque and beyond my expectations. There's a trail that leads down to the shoreline. It starts off with stairs, but that quickly descends to a dirt trail so bring a good pair of shoes... More

Great location but expectations were much higher for the price of $230 USD a night for a couple. Carpeted bathroom was unsanitary. We drove 40 minutes in the dark to avoid the restaurant. They left us with a "gift bag" upon checkout of two waters and two of the worst tasting cookies. Left a bad taste all around.

We stopped here on our Big Sur/Highway 1/Hearst Castle trip. This property was on the few properties that were more family oriented in that they have rooms with two beds. There's something awesome about staying on a cliff. From our room we could hear the waves crashing in. Another positive was that the beds were comfortable. Two words of caution.... More

Stayed here on our trip to Hearst Castle and would highly recommend to anyone! The grounds of the resort area are unbelievably amazing and the views are breathtaking! And in addition, the room we stayed in was totally adequate for our needs!

I have always wanted to stay at Ragged Point and we had the opportunity this year. Our room overlooked the ocean and was so big. Someone complained about the chain link fence but would they rather fall off the cliff. It is very lovely scenery and we were fortunate enough to climb down to the beach and see a once... More

The room was a nice standard room that was cliffside. Nice view. The grounds are nice and clean and offer a great window to Big Sur as you go north. Quiet area and provides for a nice little get away. Wi-fi works but is spotty. Little or no cell service in the area, so it's a good place to go... More
