We recently stopped here while traveling north on the scenic highway. The reservation had been made by a family member, so the location and setting was a surprise. If you like brand new, high tech, super modern hotels - this is NOT the place for you! If you can over look the age of the buildings and appreciate the beauty... More

Location ideal for the Big Sur coast, Hearst Castle, whale watching and seals. The rooms overlook the ocean. Quite spectacular. Fantastic sunsets. We booked for one night as intending to pass through but stayed for two. The room was large, two very comfortable queen size beds, clean, proper mugs and glasses rather than polystyrene, which is unusual, and a tea making... More

You pick this place for the location... not the rooms. The room I had was old but maintained well and very clean. My only gripe about the room was the mattress! I've never been on a mattress that was so noisy! I could hear springs moving when I sat down... when I rolled... any movement at all and the mattress... More

Do not expect a nice room, but if your expectations are in check then you will be very satisfied with this inn. From what I saw in Big Sur there was not a luxury inn. This one is clean and well maintained but dated. We had a second story room overlooking the cliffs. I believe most do. The view was... More

This is a great place. The facilities were clean and well kept. Walking paths and "two Cialis chairs" for the views. Room 8 is the choice is you want a great view of the ocean and the rocks. The room was immaculate. They even have real china plates and coffee cups in the room. Nice size bathroom. Good water pressure.... More

We discovered the Ragged Point Inn while riding the PCH in April. With a gas tank running low to empty we only pulled in to fill up but we ended up staying for the entertainment. It was an Saturday and the Rough House Band, a Californian covers band of a certain age, were playing and an open air barbeque was... More

This isn't the ritz, if you want that head up the coast and pay 5 times the price. What you get here is an enormous room, great comfy bed, warm fire, great TV, fresh coffee. By far and away the best feature though is that view, cliff side room - just amazing. Sitting out in the evening on the balcony... More

We enjoyed our single night at Ragged Point. Our second floor deluxe room was clean and large and had a nice view. Nothing fancy, but iIt was well-laid out, with a tiny balcony that was all we needed, and a couple of chairs at the window for most mornings that weren't as warm as ours. The fridge came in handy,... Ragged Point Inn is a gem along the rugged and beautiful highway 1 between Carmel and Morro Bay. Perched high on the bluffs there are views in every direction. I got there close to sunset, grabbed a nice glass of wine from the wine bar and watched the sun retreat into the pacific from the lookout point. The staff at... More

Sometimes I have the feeling, that the reviews are faked. Ragged Inn has a nice view and is beautiful located. If this is all you expect from a hotel , than the Place is great. We ha da room to the cliffside (ground floor) for 149 USD. The rooms needs to be refurbished the carpet is at least 20 years... More
