We spent 3 nights here, but it really isn't the kind of place to stay, more of a stop along the drive. The rooms are nice enough, but the "unobstructed" view is through a very ugly chain-link fence. I assume the rooms on the 2nd floor have a nicer view. The staff is friendly and very helpful, and the food... More

Ragged Point Inn and Resort is one of the few accommodations along the coast between San Simeon and the Big Sur area. As I was trip-planning, it seemed like a ideal mid-point for our trip from LA to our home in the Sacramento area. And the reviews and photos made it seem attractive. My phone contact with reservations staff could... More

Our room was beautiful. We got the cluffside deluxe which had a little balcony overlooking the ocean, and a fireplace. They supplied wine glasses!!! (There are many wineries in paso robles.) At the time of our visit ragged point was shipping in all of its water due to the draught. However, their determination not to compromise our experience on this... More

From the road, this doesn't look like it is going to be much. But the room was oustanding. we took a room with a view on the 1st floor and had a great afternoon watching the whales go by from our balcony. The inside of the room was also superb with high ceilings and fire. The restaurant was a bit... More

Amazing location with fantastic views over the ocean. Staff are extremely friendly. Comfortable beds and great facilities. Only thing missing from the room was a fridge, but there are ice machines so we filled the second sink with this and kept drinks cold. Rooms were very warm though with the style of thermostat in room and could not get it... More

My friend chose this hotel as her venue for her wedding in September. I looked around at other hotels and decided that it would be more convenient to stay where she was being married and not worry about driving on the curvy roads late at night. The venue was beautiful overlooking Big Sur, the whole grounds was beautiful. Since my... More

We were on a journey going north in California on Route 1 when we began to feel like it was lunch time. so we started watching and then saw a large spread of California type buildings between us and the ocean.. We had never heard of Ragged Point Inn but it looked interesting so we pulled in. And we were... More

Along Hwy 1 at a fabulous place with great views on the ocean an rocks, beautiful garden (with colibris) and a great sunset. Stayed 1 night in the beach house, where we shared living and kitchen with other people, in our case a huge Chinese family cooking all the day. The 2nd day we moved to room no 8, the... More

Stayed here one night in a garden room which was good value. Room clean and spacious with views of gardens and sunset. Warm welcome on arrival. En-suite had no natural ventilation and was hot and stuffy, toilet got blocked. Rooms could do with fans. Gardens beautiful and peaceful with fabulous views. Has no liquor licence so just beer and wine.... More

Stayed for 2 nights while driving north to Monterey. We got a room that was on the top floor (only two levels) and close to the highway. Not much road noise though. A great view from the small balcony facing west toward the ocean and a great sunset. The only quibble was the noisy exhaust fan in the bathroom and... More
