Our room was very very clean but very dated and worn out. However it was a acceptable value for the price. Parking was great and there was a very nice desk clerk. The room was quite stuffy but they kindly gave us a fan. The mini fridge was actually terrific! Nice and cold. The restaurant was not one we would... More

I was very surprised when we arrived at this hotel- both by the hotel itself, as well as the surroundings. I had never been to this area before, but expected it to be more of a town. This is basically a strip of low to medium end hotels, kind of in the middle of nowhere. I suppose the proximity the... More

This place needs a remodel terribly! I am surprised with how much they charged us for a weekend night for this place and the poor accommodations offered. The bedding was that thin floral bedding that has probably never been washed and it was nasty. The bathrooms and old and gross and need updating. I was also surprised how tiny the... More

We chose this hotel for it's average rating & price, but did not expect the room to be totally sub par!! The room was dirty, even clothes left in room. Not only was the shower moldy, but the shower head was only 5ft high, we didn't realize no AC, but this would have been ok-but no fan either!! Glad this... More

We booked tickets for Hearst Castle (cottages and kitchens) on July 11, 2015. We stayed at the lodge and we enjoyed it. The room was not fancy but clean and comfortable. David mentioned that he like the FOX news channel next time we stay there. The lodge was near Hearst Castle and the beach was across the street. What really... More

The front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful, room was clean, comfortable bed, nice size bathroom, private balcony with great view. No cell service which I didn't mind but others may, no ac but didn't need it on second floor kept the sliding glass door open with screen closed, needs a microwave in room and better cable/tv reception. Best... More

This hotel was ok - nothing fancy but did the trick. Liked the layout of the room with the second queen bed in its own alcove. Bathroom pretty "rustic" - more like a camp shower. Our kids opted out of swimming in the pool (which is rare) it was rather murky. Good food from restaurant next door. Loved being able... More

Great place to spend the night after finishing a visit to Hearst Castle while traveling on Hwy 1. The room over looked the pool and allowed for a nice view of the sun set. The bar was nice and there was a mini mart on the property for additional snack supplies. The restaurant was nice and served some great Nachos.

I had much higher expectations. For more than $200/night, I expect toilet paper on a holder, not a loose roll on back of the toilet. I expect towel racks, not a pile of towels in vanity under the sink. I expect no one else's hair in the shower. I booked two rooms far in advance (almost 90 days) and yet... More

The room smelled old and musty, I kept the slider open whenever we were in the room. The bedspread must have been from 1975, really ugly. The worst was the shower, it was approx 2 and 1/2 feet square and harvest gold tile. The price was right, the restaurant was good but I wouldn't stay there again.
