Some of the reviews of this place are unfair. It doesn't claim to be the sort of place you might want to go for 2 weeks by the sea... It's a motel you might stop for a night or two on a trip, and for that purpose it is more than adequate. The rooms is spacious, it has a good... More

Super close to Hurst Castle. Nice staff. Outside is more updated than the inside. Old bathrooms and beds but for the price its got a great location to explore the area. I'd stay again. It's a motel not a resort or 4/5 star hotel. But it is great for a quick trip.

Website photos and outdoor appearance look like a decent place to stay while on vacation. Unfortunately, we had a very different experience upon entering the room. Very dated furniture, bathroom was dirty (lots of mold, dirt in the grout) and our sheets were full of hair - I don't even think they had been changed. The air conditioner/fan broken and... More

We stayed for one night whilst travelling route one and visiting hearst castle, travelling as 2 seniors, I adult and 1 11 yr old. Great location and views, easy to find. Had 2 rooms,, both great, clean, king beds huge, lots of space and bathrooms perfect for us. Restaurant basic, menu ok but staff seemed stressed and all quite chaotic,... More

San Simeon offered us exactly what we needed after a long drive. The staff was friendly, the kingsize bed huge and clean, the little fridge perfect to cool our water bottles for the next day. WiFi free, although terribly slow. However, the bathroom/shower was small, cramped and damp-smelling, and the water pressure was very weak. San Simeon Lodge is not... More

We stayed here as a stop over for our journey to San Francisco it's nice and very quiet. Has a few restaurants near by but don't need it to have much wen it's only a stop over. The pool was nice and the view was amazing. The rooms were very spacious

San Simeon offers hotels right near the beach, that is a positive for all of them here. Overall this hotel was ok. The room was quite large which was a positive. On the negative side, TV was terrible, old and only about 4 channels! Also carpet was fraying at the door and caught every time we went in or out.... More

Oh, I have spent many hours enjoying drafting this review in my head (often whilst staying in much nicer hotels on our Southern California road trip)! Where to start?! The sticky carpets, the mouldy rotten smell that pervaded the entire room, the stained sheets, or the pubic hair in the shower drain? Or perhaps the casual racism employed by the... More

Not recommended for extended stay. 80's decor which includes; gold color fixtures, outdated box tv and ugly bathroom. There are a bunch of little hotels across the ocean with much better location but I'm sure they won't be on expedia. Good location and clean for one night stay.
