They are trying to get it together here. We stay here one night and it wasn't bad. The room is a little bit old but it was comfy. Heater was very old and needed to be started with a lighter. Staff was friendly and helpful. Decent stay, the area is just dead as zombie.

A very average motel. But the price cannot be beat. It is clearly undergoing a face-lift at the moment, so sleeping in may be hard with the construction. Closest hotel/ motel to Hearst Castle, across the street from the ocean, and a great location overall.

Well, we wanted to see the Hearst "Castle" in/near San Simeon, and my wife chose the San Simeon Lodge - we were not disappointed. The room was more than adequate; clean and well stocked with water and the normal things hotel rooms have. Though we were a little disappointed with the shower head, it did well enough too. The staff... More

After an epic long drive down the big sur coast I found the Sam Simeon just off the 101 This is more of a resort type accommodation, arranged around an outdoor pool. The chap who checked me in was very friendly and efficient, I was given room 118 Room was very spacious, basically two rooms in one: with 2 queen... More

The San Simeon Lodge is situated right on highway-1 and has on-site free parking.. We were a family group of seven including children and had stayed for one-night on our visit to the nearby Hearst Castle. We had taken two 'courtyard-facing' rooms on the upper-floor - ocean-view. Each of the rooms had facility to sleep 4 persons and were quite... More

I would stay here again but there are a couple of things to be aware of. This lodge is located on PCH 1. Very conveniently located. Across from the ocean. About 7 minutes from Hearst Castle - turn right and then another right onto the Hearst property. Fast service. Restaurant on premises served acceptable/good food ($13 10" pizza - $25... More

From the lodgings, to the dining room, to the bar, to front desk and management, the service was brilliant! The whole place felt like it was owned and managed by the one family and everyone there loved their job. The dining was amazing! I'm an overseas traveller planning to return with the kids to get away for a few days... More

There are so many motels along this stretch of highway 1 by SanSimeon you can avoid staying here. It looks nice from the outside - but the room, while big enough is rough around the edges. Lights with no light bulbs, the TV remote was broken and the front desk basically had no remedy. Very low water pressure so rinsing... More

We stayed here for a night while visiting the nearby Hearst Castle. The room was well-appointed, clean, and spacious. For the off-season $50 cost it was a most pleasant find. There are about 10 hotel/motel spots in this tiny town but we would stay here again without hesitation.

The location was great for Hearst Castle. Our room was spacious and clean. It came with a microwave and mini-fridge, as well as spotty wi-fi (could have been because of the weather). The only big complaint is that the floors were very creaky. Luckily, this was a rainy weekend in early March, so overall, the place was rather empty and... More
