This HGI has "Garden Sleep System" beds, which feel somewhat like a Tempurpedic and have an adjustment dial on each side of the bed. On the other hand, they use low-grade bedding (polyester foam blankets) on top of the mattress, so it's not as luxurious as it could be. I slept well, though I'd expect a nicer duvet at this... more

I stayed at this hotel for one week in June for business. What makes this hotel outstanding is the staff. The front desk go out of their way to help you. The interior of the hotel is spacious and airy. I'll be at staying at this hotel when I come back with my family. more

Great hotel for business or economy visits. Staff were very helpful and extremely courteous. Very clean and quite. Very happy to find it was not located next to the freeway or on a busy street. The Hilton Garden Inn in San Mateo doesnt look anything fancy from the outside. When you arrive, the only sign you will see on top of the building is a huge blue Hilton. The lobby has no waterfalls, no atriums, no Koi ponds, and just a classy country estate ambiance with a fireplace (that is working) in the great room.... more
