Very nice boutique-ish hotel with clean, comfortable rooms. The breakfast offerings are more than the standard with a good variety of fresh fruits, breads, cereal and meats. The morning staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is in a nice area and within walking distance (5 minutes) of a shopping center with eateries and restaurants that cater to the... more

We hate staying at hotels right on the freeway so, in need of a pre-flight hotel near SFO, we got off the freeway & happened upon this great little HIlton Garden Inn. They weren't full - no where NEAR full - so the manager gave us a "deal." It's a great little place, between the Home Depot & some office... more

Flew in from the UK and needed somewhere not too expensive near the airport (SFO) for 2 days. Have stayed at other HGI hotels and picked this on price and location. 3 mins from R101 so easy access to San Francisco itself or if you need to travel south in CA. Whole two days were excellent and cannot fault anything... more

I stay at this hotel when in San Mateo on business. The staff there is amazing. One of the front desk staff (Katrina) ALWAYS remembers my name when I come in. I have no idea how since I have only stayed there 4-5 times this year but it never fails - I walk in the door and she welcomes me... more

I stayed here from 11/10 - 11/13 for a business trip. Overall, I like it here. I have a room on the first floor. First, I was worried about the potential noice but it is not a problem at all. There are also plenty of parking. The hotel is located close to a shopping center with many restaurants near by.... more

They would not guarantee the size or type of room I was reserving. I was traveling with my mom and two kids, so I needed a room with 2 beds. They wouldn't guarantee that - it was possible to show up and get a room with ONE king size bed. Even after I decided to take my chances on the... more

This guest wanted to stay over a period when all our rooms with 2 beds were already sold out. She wanted us to guarantee it which we could not do since others reserved that room type first. She was told the hotel would do the best we could to accommodate her needs if we got a cancellation but that we...

This hotel has served me well on my regular trips to the west coast US. It is just a couple of minutes off US101 - about 20 minutes south of SFO. The rooms are above average in size and the new beds installed are great. There is free wired and wireless broadband. The communal facilities are average - but for... more

I've stayed here several times for business trips. It's location is convenient for San Jose/Redwood City area. The rooms are clean and comfortable and come with a small bar fridge. My rooms was very quiet. The free WiFi worked great. My only gripe is those darned Sony alarm clocks - way too complex! There's a very small but functional workout... more

Hilton Garden Inns vary more widely in quality than you might think, but this hotel is near the top of their range. The location is very convenient, near both US 101 and the San Mateo Bridge -- furnishing easy access north, south and to the East Bay. The staff is cheerful and polite, the rooms are comfortable and quiet, and... more

I stumbled across the Hilton Garden Inn by accident when the Crowne Plaza 'lost' my twice confirmed booking and couldn't fit me in. I was very happy to find the Hilton Garden Inn was a far superior hotel, with spacious, well appointed rooms, windows that really open up and a very quiet location. The staff were very helpful and friendly... more
