In my opinion, this hotel is tops. The bed was especially comfortable, and I really appreciated the nice linens. The breakfast area was kept spotlessly clean, well attended, and the woman who does this deserves accolades. They even offer brown bag breakfast to go for those who have no time to linger in the dining area. My one tiny criticism... more

The Hampton Inn was a pleasant surprise. Our house was being tented for termites and we needed somewhere local to stay. The day we were set to arrive it was 103 degrees and my youngest child had the flu. It was 9 a.m. but the friendly staff let us have breakfast and check in early so she could sleep. With... more

We stayed one night on our way north from San Diego. We have always had good luck with Hamptons and this one did not disappoint. It was clean and the breakfast was normal Hampton fare. The bathroom door did not stay open, I believe it was mentioned in an earlier post, which kept the bathroom a little steamy after showers.... more

My husband and I, along with his mother, spent two nights here when we were in town for a wedding. We couldn't have been happier with the service; the staff cared about our comfort in a genuine, down-to-earth way. A few days before arriving, I called to request a written confirmation for my boss, and the front desk staff, Jordan,... more

I stay in the area about once a week and have tried a handful of the local hotels, Although it is the closest to my office here (same block), I would continue to stay here even if it was several miles away. This is, by far, the best hotel accomodation in the area. Always very clean, good bath towels and... more

We wanted a decent hotel near Legoland, but not too far from San Diego Zoo. We (my wife and 2 young daughters) like Hampton Inns because they usually provide good value for the money. The Hampton Inn San Marcos lived up to our expectations. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff pleasant and accomodating. Free breakfast typical of the chain (better... more

Stayed 2 nights late June, 2007. It's a pretty decent Hampton Inn - decent breakfast, nice bed & pillows, and best of all, free FAST wireless Internet. It's a bit of drive to San Diego attractions (around 1/2 hour), but not too bad. more

while this Hampton Inn is nice, it is certainly not the best and cleanest Hampton I've come across. Location: about 2 miles up from the San Marcos Prime Outlet (if you're driving southbound on I35, make sure you take exit 200 and go around the underpass -- the hotel is located along the frontage road behind a Chili's and Luby's... more

Once again, Hampton Inn gets my vote. Very clean, very polite staff, excellent free breakfast, the only thing lacking is a computer to check my email in the lobby! The pool looked nice, but we were too busy to use it. more

We are staying here for two days, in order for my daughter to tour a local college and familiarize herself with the area. We chose the Hampton because we've had good experiences with this chain in the past. That said, we found this hotel to exceed our expectations. The new bedding, nice down comforters, soft sheets, and great pillows, make... more
