i had visited the men's rest room at the Madonna Inn with its waterfall urinal (I'm not kidding--this is a famous tourist attraction) but had never stayed in the inn until my wife and I splurged on a night in the pink "tall and short" room. It was something like Mae West's boudoir. my oh my. I was a little... More

Not sure what the big deal is about this place... I've heard so many people saying good things. Yes, it's eclectic, but as a hip(ish) kind of guy, I tried to get a kick out of the weirdness and see it as ironic, but all I could feel was that I was in a seniors complex that was decorated by... Over the top in all the best ways. We stayed in the Paris Violets room and it was clean, spacious, and funky. When you arrive, you get a bag of delicious, fresh-from-the-oven cookies. The butterscotch one was delicious. You also get a free postcard (different pics of the rooms) which I think is a nice nod to the nostalgia of... More

I had wanted to stay at the Madonna Inn ever since first hearing about it 20 or so years ago...it was even more wonderful than I could have ever imagined! I chose the Merry room, which is outfitted with pink sequin wallpaper, three small chandeliers, rose-shaped lights around the bathroom mirrors, and a GIGANTIC chandelier hanging from the high vaulted... After hearing about this place for years and driving past it on my way to Nor. Cal., my husband and I went for a concert at their music venue and stayed the night. An appreciation for tackiness done right is critical to enjoy this hotel. Although we didn't stay in one of the highly-touted "theme" rooms, our room did have... More

POOP ON THE COUCH! We planned an awesome trip up the Central Coast of California and planned on ending it with the Madonna Inn... we checked in and were there a couple hours. We were in the Pick and Shovel room, room 123. After we kept smelling something that smelt like poop we finally found out that the big red... More

If someone doesn't leave a 5 star review of this place, it's not the place for them. But it might be the place for you. This place is the perfect blend of luxury and kind comfort. The bathrobes, heated toilet seats, vistas, and dining accommodations will make you feel like royalty, while the human touch on every room makes you... More

We stayed for a birthday/anniversary weekend celebration. It was everything I hoped it would be. The rooms were very comfortable and cozy. We stayed the first night in the fox and hound and the next itwo in the pick and shovel. Both were great but the pick and shovel had 2 bathrooms. There were 4 adults and 2 small children.... More

We stayed in a room with a rock shower with a waterfall. It was interesting and fun, not the typical hotel. The food was good and very down home style. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is usually crowded on the weekends so get your reservation far in advance. The location is beautiful and serene. This hotel is really not... More

This hotel/attraction is amazing. The grounds are gorgeous and the food yummy. Their selection of cakes is truly something to see. We stayed in the China Suite - filled with antiques. Drinks in their pink carousel bar is definitely a picture op. The Steak House and Breakfast restaurant are just beautiful. They have an amazing wine cellar and a lovely... More
