Yes, it's all of the above! So don't be shocked by anything. Staff was pleasant, rooms are very unique and fun (and musty and old), restaurant is good (and overpriced), grounds are plentiful. We stayed in Daisy Mae. Sleeping in a cave and showering under a rock waterfall is a lot of fun but the slamming of adjoining room doors... More

We stopped here for one night on a road trip from Monterey to San Diego. We did not pick the room before so we got whatever they gave us.. We ended up with the Espana room. It was really cool. It looked like an old Spanish building inside with dark ornate wood furniture, red tile floor, and lots of gold... More

If you are looking for a fun quirky hotel this is the the hotel for you. All the rooms are themed (we stayed in the Sky Room) and had 3 beds so super for a family (stairs are steep so wouldn't put the little ones upstairs). It is definitely the tackiest hotel we have stayed in but we loved it... More

Hollywood drama meets rich white trash design - seriously! If pink is your favourite color, you will love this place. We booked a rock shower room - Bridal Falls (yes we are newly weds)! The room was well appointed, the bathroom is nuts, with a waterfall shower, and a bubbling stream for effect (as if you needed it!). With the... More

The Madonna Inn is one of the tackiest places I've ever been. That being said, it's a fun place to stay. As you should know by now, each room has a different theme, so your room is pretty unique. Front desk was friendly (you get some delicious cookies!) and showed us the way to our room. Room (Pick & Shovel)... More

Really, really, Alice in Wonderland. So, take a deep breath, suspend your belief, soak it up, take lots of photos, tell all your friends. But only come here once - that's more than enough. (The cookies are very good! There is way too much pink everywhere!)

This hotel is fabulous. When we first arrived my wife and daughter went to check in my five-year old asked if they had a pink room and the lady at the desk said, "Honey, this is the Madonna Inn. We have many pink rooms." She wasn't kidding. Every room is decorated to the tilt. It is tacky, decadent, beautiful, and... More

My husband surprised me with three nights at the Madonna Inn to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We stayed two nights in the Matterhorn room and one night in the Carin. Our favorite was the Matterhorn. It's walls are blue and it has a very calming effect. Stained glass windows and a balcony which looks out over the ranch in... More
