just spent a beautiful weekend at this whimsical, romantic hotel for our best friends' wedding. everything was perfect. excellent customer service from the moment i made my reservation and checked in- and the rooms are so fun! not cheesy or cheaply put together to fit the themes (i saw about 5-7 rooms that the others were staying in). the decor... This is where we spent our honeymoon 40 years ago. It is a one of a kind hotel. It was one of the first "theme room" hotels. We stayed in the Mini Max room, a mini-suite, with a huge stone fireplace. The bathroom floor has 14-15 different random tiles with two rock basins and a rock shower. And a lot... More

Unique hotel with lavish fairy tale atmosphere, however everything fully functional. We had the pick and shovel suite with three bedrooms, quite suitable for up to seven people. The pool area is high up and has gorgeous views. The Gold Rush steakhouse is the pink and gold colored main restaurant - very much recommended to make a reservation even before... More

Stayed at the Madonna. I heard it was great and that must stay there. I got the poppy room. Looked like a room from the 70's. Was not what I was expecting. I will not stay there again. Room was outdated.

Madonna Inn is an absolute classic. Tacky, kitchy but a great place to stay as you drive up or down the California coast. The rooms are all designed with individual themes but the hotel offers great service. Check out the pool that is high atop the property with sweeping views of the mountains and valley. Of course, no visit is... More

This hotel is the most amazing hotel ever! How can one even describe the feeling at the Madonna Inn? It is pure genius. Yes, it kitchy cool as many reviewers have noted. We stayed in the travelers suite and loved it. It had a rock fireplace that reminded me of the Flintstones. Each room is a masterpiece. The restaurant is... More

Stayed there for one night while in town on business. I used to drive by this place as a child and always wanted to stay there, so a bit of a history/bucket list item for me. It was pretty busy and it was not cheap so they are doing something right. Pool was nicer than I expected. Service was fine... More

My first stay was 36 years ago, and the second stay 20 years ago and then this past weekend. The first two stays I was in one of the several rock/cave rooms and remember it fondly. This time I was on the 3rd of 4 floors in the Dot & Daisy room. The hotel still has the charm of what... More

I think you need a sense of humor to love the Madonna Inn. It is kitschy and quirky but a lot of fun. The property itself it really nice with places to explore but not a "walk to town" kind of place, i's on a hill inland from the ocean. Every room is different and are in "motel fashion" with... It's been probably 30 years since I've been in this area but I always wanted to stay at the Madonna Inn. Price was okay but there is a "resort fee" added. Ok. Not sure why the pool and grounds aren't included in the room rate but it also covers Internet. Slowest most inconsistent connection. I teach online and can travel... More
