Different themed rooms to choose from. It may be cheesy & over the top, but it gives a unique experience! I've stayed in the Caveman Room, so that was a trip! Be careful, though, when showering in there. The bathroom for the Caveman Room is made to resemble a cave as well, and with the rocky, uneven shower floors, it... More

To be honest, the Inn is not everybody's cup of tea. Some people, pull into the carpark, take one gander at the gaudy building, with its rollicking spiral staircases, multiple balconies, pink faux-Tudor towers with cupolas and turn the car around continuing towards San Francisco. how much kitsch is too much? there are 109 rooms, with no two alike. Our... More

This place is magical. Wish I could arrange to be there when their Christmas decorations are up but anytime, it is a treat. I've stayed in various room over the years and look forward to trying many more. Each room has a different theme and each is exceptionally clean and well done. The bubble gum pink dining room serves the... More

When I first encountered this place in the early 60’s I was overwhelmed by its ridiculous excess and to me at the time, bad taste. Among my friends the thing to do was to stop for a banana split and look at the men’s room with the walk-in stone urinal. Now 50 years later I am taken by the unique... More

This place is great! The rooms are worth the trip, and I will be coming back again and again. All rooms are different, with a theme. You can live in a castle or in a cave, or in old Mexico. The food isn't fantastic, but it doesn't matter, because the place is.

Great destination stay with breakfast restaurant and dessert. Must have dessert to go or take home a whole cake. Don't forget to go up stairs to shop. Each room is different. Ask them to show the book of each room before deciding .

I stayed here late November 2014 and enjoyed the experience. It is not modern, so if that is what you are wanting, then I suggest you look elsewhere. I stayed in a two bedroom suite with a friend. It only had one bathroom though. The room had a fire place and you feel you were in a 'hunters lodge' out... More

It's a kitsch palace. For a one night stop on your way up the coast, sure, OK, it does the job. I found it a little depressing. I wanted the Old Mill room, I got the Flower room. The heated toilet seat was the best thing about it.

We stayed here for one night on a road trip down the Californian coast and it didn't disappoint - we got our pick and stayed in the Caveman room. The room exceeded all expectations - its like staying in a luxury cave. There's a rock shower with a cascading waterfall and animal print everywhere, it was unlike anything we have... More

Kitch, gaudy, OTT it's all these things, if you haven't got a sense of humour please, please don't go. All the rooms that we saw were great, we stayed in the Wilhelm Tell room which had the cave shower which was very comfortable. Try the cocktail's but beware they are not the usual watered down drinks you get in some... More
