My boyfriend and I went to SLO for a short weekend a way and tried hotwire since we didnt really care where we stayed and just wanted it near the hub of SLO. The location of this place was nice... a short walk put us in downtown so we didn't have to worry about driving, but the hotel was dumpy.... more

Now I consider myself a very low maintenance type person...but this had to have been my worst experience at any motel. Booking a room at the Travelodge, I knew not to expect the greatest of amenities or services. Checked into the room around 10pm, the lobby was already locked up - but, a woman was at the front desk and... more

We had no reservation when we pulled up and were able to negotiate a good rate for cash. Lets be clear from the start. This is a budget motel with few frills and the so-called continental breakfast was possibly the worst of our road trip vacation. Would we stay there again - yes. The room and bed linen was clean... more

Promoted as the ONLY downtown motel, even so, not anywhere near the overpriced charge of $129.00, two people/one bed per night. After all we are talking Travelodge here. Wouldn't be worth it, at half the price. This was on the last day of Oct., 2008. The place is right next to the major One Way street, going out of town,... more

I read the other reviews after our stay and i must say it's not all that bad. OK, it's a travelodge so you know what you're paying for. We decided to stay a the TL when arriving in SLO after a long day exploring HW 1 (the big sur). Staff was not very friendly but ok. Room was clean and... more

Whoah, I read reviews for the Travelodge and they seemed okay, so when I pulled off Highway 101 at Marsh St., exhausted from the drive down Big Sur and saw it, I was too excited to realize that they have two Travelodges in San Louis Obispo. The other one is significantly better, I think. I think the one I stayed... more

My reservation was ready when I arrived. No elevators. Friendly service at the desk. My room was a non-smoking room, which had no odor. Room was clean and boasted over 100 channels of cable, fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Bed was average in comfort. Only downside was the doors. They are so heavy, when they close they make a loud... more

My son and I stayed here for one night in mid April 2008 on our way to San Francisco from LA and I can honestly say without hesitation that I would stay here again any time if I pass this way again. A lot of the reviews here are pretty old so I can only assume that the Travelodge San... more

Pros: One of the cheaper motels in SLO. Trolley to downtown area across the street. Microfridge in every room. Clean. Looks like newly remodeled bathrooms. Cons: An odd, kind of chemical-y smell in the room. Walls were a bit thin--seemed like because it's cheaper, maybe it's where the college kids come to hang on a Friday night. (Settled down by... more

I have never experienced such an unsatisfactory stay at a hotel before staying at the Travelodge in downtown San Luis Obispo. Not only was the room extremelly small, I was forced to share a double bed with one of my friends after we had expected a room with two beds. This shower was so small it was like showering in... more
