We booked by turning up on a Thursday (Farmers Market) and got a decent price for a room full of character. We loved the room and the staff were extremely helpful in assisting in getting parking and our bags etc to the room and then were invited to the wine tasting which was fine albeit limited as someone previously noted.... more

We decided to stay here after a long drive up from LA. My wife wanted some place in the middle of the town where we could walk to cafes etc. Anyway after handing over the credit card for $179+20 tax....we were off up to our bedroom. First no soap in the bathroom....no big deal...back down the stairs for soap and... more

We came to celebrate my husband's birthday and booked the kayak package (in Morro Bay ~ 10 miles away), which was great. After kayaking we checked in and were treated to the wine and cheese happy hour. It was also really nice to be within a 2-block walking distance to downtown (especially Linnaea's Cafe, one-block down on the way to... more

My boyfriend and I stayed here over the weekend and even though the hotel was over run with parents dropping off their kids for college, I've got to say that this was the best place we have ever stayed at! We knew there would be street noise, it is downtown; after all that's one of the reasons we chose it!... more

My husband and I stayed at the Garden Street Inn this last weekend. I must say I was shocked to see the bad review that was written by two guests who were at the inn the same weekend as us. I can speak for my husband as well when I say that the accommodation's and the friendly helpful staff made... more

Our son is in college in san luis obispo, so we have vistied there several times and have stayed in 5 different places in town. Garden Steet Inn inn is by far the worst! There are so many things wrong i don't know where to start. The room in which we stayed had the sink in the bedroom rather than... more

The Garden Street Inn was our first stop on our way to San Francisco. We had no idea what to expect, but we found ourselves in a very nice Edwardian building in a quiet street. The location is great for wandering around the city, and the staff was very helpful in recommending a restaurant for the evening. After looking at... more

San Luis Obispo was our first stop on the Pacific Coast Highway route from Los Angeles to San Francisco. It's a pleasant town and the Mission is well worth a visit, but best of all was the delightful Garden Street Inn. It's a handsome Edwardian mansion with a welcoming entrance decked with pots of flowers. The spacious entrance hall has... more

Being an "ex" local, the Garden Street Inn was just what we were looking for. You can't beat the location if you want to wander around town. We were there over Spring Break which I must say helped out on the "noise factor" since the Cal Poly students were gone for the week. We loved the cookies hanging on our... more

When I contacted the Garden Street Inn directly to book a room (that I could not book online because their website was not working), I was told that I had to book two nights in order to secure a reservation. Their policy reads "two nights room reservations are required for special event weekends or holidays." Neither applied to the date... more
