Took an overnight trip with the family and dog. The hotel is 2 minutes away from downtown SLO and the mission. Cool French feel with extremely helpful and friendly staff. The rooms are nice and clean. Had a happy hour snack and some wine before heading out to the Thursday Farmers Market. Breakfast was also included in the stay (very... More

We have been wanting to stay at Petit Soleil for several years but have been unable to due to lack of vacancies. Well, we lucked out this past week and were glad we had the opportunity to have this experience. The entire staff, simply put, defines customer service. From the second we walked in to check-in to the time we... More

A lovely little piece of provincial France planted in central coastal California. My room was quiet, spacious, and very comfortable. The courtyard feels exactly like places I've stayed in France. I was welcomed with an excellent glass of wine on arrival (I was too late for the hors d'oeuvres). Breakfast was delicious and generous. I was only there one night,... More

My wife and I stayed at Petit Soleil on a quick business trip at the recommendation of local colleagues. While not really setup for business travelers, it still served us well with free WiFi and some places to work in the dining room and courtyard. The lack of business amenities should not be a surprise. After all, it's a B&B... More

This B&B was adorable. My husband and I only stayed one night. We were on a whirlwind tour of Central California and wanted to stop in SLO and visit some wineries before heading to Santa Barbara and the beach. The staff at Petit Soleil was very friendly, and the room was very comfortable. We stayed in Le Jardin room; it... More

Our four night stay at this charming B&B was delightful. The room we were in was small but cozy and the breakfasts and evening snacks were excellent. The reasons I can't give it 5 stars?: parking is next door which we share with the cafe's patrons and the noise levels. It can be a problem for light sleepers. Location is... More

Petit Soleil is an absolute delight; a very pretty, French themed, conversion of a motel. Diane and John and their staff offer the most genuine welcome and are so helpful. The rooms are each styled differently and most overlook the tranquil courtyard. The breakfasts are scrumptious and very individual. Another distinctive feature of Petit Soleil is the offering each evening... More

The owners manage to pull off the Provencal theme convincingly despite the challenges of the adjacent busy road and nearby rail tracks. The whole place is thoughtfully and attractively furnished, and the decor of our room was well thought out - authentic and timeless as well as comfortable and providing all expected facilities and a few more. The wine and... More

Breakfast and happy hour are very nice. Rooms nicely furnished. Beware that this B&B does not have air conditioning. I had hoped that by opening the windows and having the ceiling fan on high would cool down the hot room. Room finally cooled down by 11 pm. Local traffic and train noise very loud so bring ear plugs.

After paying ove $200 for the night, my wife and I were cheerfully led to a hot room with no air conditioning. Also no tub and only one night stand. Lying here now with the door and window open wishing we had been told about the lack of a/c before paying. BUT, thay provide all the decorations you would ever... More

We are sorry that the room that was reserved for you wasn't to your satisfaction. We have several different room combinations: some include tub/showers some do not. We do not advertise air conditioning and have always done well with our ceiling fans to cool the rooms down. Some rooms take a little longer to cool. We are glad you were... More
