We had driven from San Fran in approx 4 hours, and stopped at SLO as half way point to LA. The town itself is a small quaint cute sleepy town but with enough to do for a day or so. This small boutique B&B hotel has so much character and is amazing!! Staff lovely and very helpful. Got free (... more

Great place to stay in SLO! We stayed in Le Chantecleer and loved it. I have to say I read a review saying this place used to be a motel with scratchy blankets and still is... THEY ARE WRONG! Our bed was incredibly comfortable and the linens were very cozy. The bathroom is well done. The shower/ tub area has... more

We traveled with our teenagers looking at Cal Poly and chose Petit Soleil based on its proximity to the downtown area (10 minute walk) and the amenities it offered. We booked 2 rooms and they were both spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. The beds were really comfortable and though there was no air-conditioning, the ceiling fan was perfect, remote controlled... more

While travelling from LA to San Fran we stayed at Petit Soleil and were exceedingly pleased. The B&B is charming and its staff goes out of their way to assist with any and all aspects of your trip from recommending restaurants, wineries and local shops to assistiang with obtaining tickets to Hearst Castle on our way north. Thank you for... more

Definitely a mom & pop affair. Very homey and warm. My room was the Pierrot (warning: if you have a phobia of clowns, do not stay in this room!) It is on the small side, with a bed, wardrobe, a bath with shower, heater and ceiling fan. The door and window opens right to the courtyard where people are milling... more

It is definitely not our taste, I admit it. We stayed one night at the Herbes de Provence room (queen size): lavender everywhere, an indigestion of pastel colors which can result quite nauseating, all the more if you are european, like we are, and have actually visited the real Provence. The overall impression is that of an excess of artificiality,... more

Make sure you try their wine & appetizers from 5-6:30 pm. We have stayed here 4 times now. Wonderful food and hospitality. We try to get to SLO in time for their Thursday Night Farmer's Market. Lots of good food and entertainment. more

When we arrived we were exhausted and it was late. We were warmed welcomed by one of the staff member. She offered us a glass of wine, even if the time of the 5 à 7 was passed for long !!! It is a charming oasis in San Luis Obispo after a long day of driving on US 1 !!!... more

I was in San Luis Obispo for a couple days on business. I started my days on Petit's quaint patio and the breakfasts were amazing - so fresh, lots of options, and so much food too, I didn't leave hungry. The majority of my days were spent out with customers - but it was so good to come back and... more

This is the first time I’ve written a TripAdvisor review from the very hotel I’m reviewing, but I wanted to give this post a little bit of real-time vividness. Petit Soleil is a bed and breakfast in San Luis Obispo, California; it used to be the Adobe Inn, a traditional, mid-century, thoroughly decent but unpretentious motel. I’ve stayed here a... more
