Needed a hotel for a late night arrival to San Jose. The hotel is about 5 or so miles from the airport. On the good side, the room was spacious and had a mini-fridge as well as a microwave. On the negative side, two major issues. First, there was no television reception in my room. I called down the the... More

Worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Had to put towels over the attached door to another room due to a wide gap at top and they block it with a chair... lighting is dangerous, not properly fitted, hole in wall there is a door on it to cover, sure it is an access point for the jacuzzi. No lock... More

My boyfriend and I wanted to make a stop in Santa Cruz before driving back down to San Diego. We were in Concord and decided to stay in San Jose to cut off some driving time for the next day. We had to find someplace last minute, and most of the other hotels we looked at were booked up or... More

I was just in San Jose to give a short talk. My schedule was so tight, I took a cab from the airport to the host hotel (Fairmont). My hotel needs for the night were strictly for sleeping (my client would be me up for breakfast and then drop me back SJO airport). I opted to stay at the Clarion,... More

First, San Jose is an expensive place to stay so if you're looking for an acceptable budget priced hotel, this Clarion will be fine. Second, located about four miles south of San Jose, this location is convenient but this is the industrial side of San Jose. There are plenty of services, restaurants, and the like but it's not the prettiest... More

We stayed for 3 nights at the end of August. For the price we paid, I was satisfied. There were several restaurants and shopping within driving distance.Easy to get to freeway and downtown was not far. Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Breakfast was nothing to write home about, but was adequate. The few problems were, the cable TV did... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night as we had an early 6am flight from San Jose Airport. We left our bags at the hotel before check in as we had an Alcatraz tour and couldn't check in until later that night. We checked in later that night and our $100 bottle of wine we had bought from... Nice hotel on a very busy main road in a working-class area. Very little within walking distance. Check-in was OK, the front-desk person seemed distracted and bored. Received a nice goody bag for being a Privileges member. Room was very nice with lots of furniture, could use a maintenance person to fix a couple of little things. Had to redo... More

I have been staying at the Clarion Inn on Monterey Road in San Jose for several weeks. This hotel is by far the best hotel in the area, for the money. The rooms are good size, clean and have been remodeled fairly recently. The TV's are all large flat screens with a lot of channels. Breakfast is wonderful and FREE.... More

The property is nice and very clean, but the rooms are very dated with old TV's and linens. The room was nice size. Desk area was far too small and the rooms facing Monterey Road are loud, especially with the frequent trains. Traffic is difficult and moving during rush hour was very slow. Nice breakfast area, but could be upgraded... More
