Had a Great experience at this hotel while attending the FANIME Convention over Memorial Weekend. From the doorman and valet to the front desk staff and housekeepers the service and smiles were exceptional. We got a great deal even though all the "best" deals from the convention website were sold out. The hotel had alot of people working - they... more

I would live at this hotel if I could. I stayed here on multiple occasions in May/June 2008, and found it absolutely delightful. The building is a historic hotel, beautifully maintained and elegantly furnished. As a historic hotel, the rooms might be considered small, but the comfort, elegance, service, and thoughtful details easily overcome any size concerns. Each room features... more

Beware of the prepaid Internet rate. I called to cancel my reservation within 24 hours that was made a month ahead of time, and the hotel would not reimburse me. more

Two beefs with this hotel 1) despite the capacious gym pictured in the hotel photos, the "gem" only has two trreadmills (which are mostly tied up almost all the time), two aerobic exercisers, a few free weights and 2-3 small machines. If you're looking for a better hotel gym try the Fairmont first then the Marriott. 2) walls are paper... more

I spent four months at this wonderful historic facility. The staff were always friendly, courteous, and most helpful. I stayed mostly on Monday thru Thursday nights. There was every kind of dining possible within 3 blocks, from fine dining to take out. Entertainment was close by or an easy cab ride. I did not need a rental car but Hertz... more

The Sainte Claire in downtown San Jose is an architectural gem from the 1930's and fully restored to its storied past. This is the place to go if you want the best in service as the staff is well aware that "the little things" make a difference when modern hotels can be found just across the street. We stayed at... more

I chose the Sainte Claire because I was unable to get into the convention hotel - but I am glad it worked out this way. This is a lovely hotel, very close to the convention center and nice restaurants within walking distance. It's historic, but not funky. Everything works, good HVAC and plumbing, lovely bedding, very nice service and front... more

We went to San Jose for a hockey game and so stayed at the Sainte Claire. The hotel was within 15 minutes walking distance of the arena, and so it served its purpose there! Pluses: the bed was really comfortable, which was great after a long flight and a long day. The staff were really helpful. Room service breakfast was... more

There are lots of choices for hotels in downtown San Jose, and after reading all the reviews on TA, we decided on The Sainte Claire. We were extremely happy that we chose this beautiful, old world, centrally located hotel. We stayed the evening of Thanksgiving. "Scott", at the front desk could not have been more accommodating and did his best... more

Stayed here for a work conference, was utterly delighted. My single room was small but perfectly formed, with a deep voluptuous bed, a nicely positioned desk, no Internet problems, and the most exquisite hotel bathroom I've ever seen. All porcelain and wood fittings with a custom-painted ceiling that had its own lighting system. The staff were also very helpful. The... more
