We stayed 6 nights combining a college graduation with a tour all around the bay area. We came into San Jose International. The hotel was located close to the airport near a freeway interchange so it was easy to get to and the free shuttle service was a winner. We used the hotel as a base so we were able... more

While the room itself is clean, the property overall is in disrepair. The furniture is old and worn and the carpeting too. The lobby is not very inviting, and there is never anyone at the front desk. There was polite young lady when I checked in(her name was Rain), but the others I've spoken with act like they are inconvenienced... more

We apologize for the inconvienence you felt you experienced at our property. It is unfortunate, however we do have brand new furntiture in all of our guest rooms, as well as Beds and drapery. We will have the carpet completed by the end of the Summer. I am hopeful you chose to stay with us again in the future and...

I agree with other reviewers. It looks OK from the outside, and is on a quiet dead end street, sharing the space with a gas station and Burger King. It is nowhere as good as it looks. They checked us into a room that was under construction. No TV, No Phone, No flooring. How could they not know? Next we... more

Hello, I read your comments and wanted to address a few issues, I do apologize for the mix up with the rooms. The hotel was and still is under renovation, but as made huge strides. I pride myself on my team and as always try to exceed guest expectations. Obvious we failed this time, I am hopeful that on your...

I will try to keep this as brief as possible. Checked in about 6pm, given a room that right away we noticed problems with. Hard not to notice where the curtains are halfway falling down. I was able to put them back up where they generally refused to stay. Having reattached them as best as i could, we noticed that... more

A lot of changes and upgrades have taken place since this guest stayed with us. It is unfortunate that there were issues, it was our fault for the customer relations error in putting a guest in a room that wasn't complete, with the new curtains, furniture or air conditioners, but we have done agreat deal of work and are confident...

Being on a recent college visiting tour, I have seen the orgy of new construction that our esteemed higher education institutions have embarked upon (new dorms, student centers, athletic facilities, scientific and engineering laboratories, performing arts centers, classroom buildings, alumni centres, etc). The hotel industry likewise has been on this binge of construction as the past few years of this... more

I appreciate your comments, we take all suggestions to heart and implement whatever we can. Since we have purchased brand new furniture for all the guest rooms, brand new beds and even increased our bandwith for our wireless. We now have a T-3, so surfing speeds are even faster. We look forward to serving you again in the future. Thank...

So I figured in reading other people's reviews that we would be OK with this place because we are farely tolerable people. I can deal with internet service that isn't that great, or renovations that aren't complete. But.....one thing trumps all of that minimally annoying stuff. My husband pulled the iron out of the closet, and there was a dead... more

It was unfortunate for the added guest in the room. Our staff is very thorough and has been praised for the cleanliness of our rooms. At times some things are out of our control, but we handle every issue with a smile on our face and a determination to make sure our guests needs are not only met, but exceeded....

Obviously, this hotel just joined LaQuinta (a canvas LaQ sign was draped over the old one) Many of the amenties listed will not be available until after a planned renovation (e.g. "premium" cable tv and pay-for-view movies). We had to have the tv set replaced twice before we even had one that worked. They had screwed up my reservation (they... more

The exterior looked okay, then it was downhill from there. They gave us a second floor room but forgot to tell us a small detail...no elevators, we had huge pieces of luggage swaying up the staircases, which was not the way to start a relaxing night. As previous reviewers stated, there is indeed a musty odor throughout the hotel. The... more

During this stay we were under renovations, we are nearing the end of the project and have made huge strides on both the interior and exterior of the property. Our guest rooms are all very modern and have a home like feel to them, with new carpet throughout the property. You will enjoy a great night sleep with us. Thank...

PROS: - Was a good price for a 4 night stay, even when booked directly from La Quinta's website directly (used the AAA discount) - The Burger King next door stays open till midnight (and they let me go up to the drive-thru without a car) - Good continental breakfast, nothing out of the ordinary however CONS: - Strong musty... more

We are very reasonably priced for the area we are in and for the amentities we offer. I appreciate all the comments we recieve and try to input any positive suggestions that I feel will help advance our offering to you the guest. I walk the property everyday and haven't noticed any smells, since coming on board we have replaced...

I've been visiting the Silicon Valley area for nearly 2 years now and have ALWAYS stayed at the Gateway. (at least 6 times) I have always found the staff to be helpful and friendly. I've never had a bad room. In the summer the Pool area is always clean and inviting. The beds are always comfortable, the bathrooms always spotless.... more
