This hotel was a great find. The price was extremely reasonable - for about $100, I got a nice-sized, very comfortable suite with living room, kitchenette, bedroom, and a bathroom with a hot tub. The appliances (fridge and microwave) worked fine. The internet worked well. The staff was friendly and checked me in without any problems, even though I'd arrived... more

Well, the upsides are that the rate is low and it includes breakfast (good) and supper (poor). There is a jacuzzi in the room but we wouldn't have used it on a bet. This is a "has been" hotel that must have been super at its prime. Another plus is free onsite parking. Coffee always available and cookies. What's not... more

We arrived at the Arena around 6.45pm and were checked in quickly, with no problems. I had called the previous day to add another day to our stay, and was glad that it had been updated on the system-so there were no problems there! The room wasn't too fancy, but had all we needed, plus a hot tub in the... more

I attended a conference in downtown SJ and stayed at the Arena hotel for four days. This is one of the best-value hotels I ever stayed at. Of course, this is not a luxury hotel, which is pretty obvious from its rate. But: - The room I stayed at was very clean; - the rooms are spacious; - the rooms... more

This hotel was probably a nice place to stay at one time (when it was new). The grounds are pleasant, full of lush landscaping and chirping birds despite the urban setting. The lobby, while in need of updating, is large, clean and welcoming. The towels are new and reasonably plush. Cabs are easy to come by. Sadly, the decor is... more

I and my boyfriend stayed this hotel in spring break to relax, and have a good time. This hotel's feature is the juccuzi, and "free" light dinner and breakfast. well, first of all, juccuzi was kind a too small to relax, it was just a little bigger than bath tub, it's narrow for just 2 people. Juccuzi machine seemed like... more

An acceptable hotel. Don't expect the "free food" in the evening to be edible. Breakfast is basic - with plastic plates/cuttlery and zero service. However its a relaxed place, with reasonable rooms. Location is a bit of a hike into central San Jose under freeways etc (so amazingly its best to drive out even though we walked everywhere...) Don't expect... more

My fiance and I stayed at the Arena Hotel when we were in San Jose for the SAP Open (tennis). The hotel looks much better on the web site than in person. We were in a non-smoking room, but the lobby, our floor and our room all had a musty smell. The room wasn't very clean. The bed was fine.... more

The hotel was a little on the older side and the room was a little small for a family of 5 (3 kids 9 and under), but we found it to be quaint and well maintained. There was a microwave and a little refrigerator which was a must for a family with kids. The 2 older kids loved the jacuzzi... more

This hotel was good value. The decor is a little dated, but the rooms are quiet, spacious and comfortable enough. The rate included dinner and breakfast - both pretty good. My only complaint is the use of disposable tableware, but this seems to be standard practice in most places we stayed. more
