We checked in late after driving in Friday night LA traffic to get thete but it was no problem for the owner. He gave us directions for a good Supper that night. A clean and comfortable stay on a very comfortable bed. After some photos of the complex in the morning the family were really helpful with a scenic route... More

Doing Route 66 this motel was a must stay at and we weren't disappointed. The wigwams were clean and well appointed, all be it small. The owner, Kumar, was a fab host, providing S'mores by the campfire and ended the night with fireworks. Loved it!

I don't understand all these rave reviews. These postings are very misleading. Yes, the cute factor is there, but... The neighborhood is super SKETCHY, as in potentially not safe. Take your photos, then drive on to Claremont - or somewhere else farther west. Seriously. The motel is surrounded by junk yards, gravel pits, crummy liquor stores, and scary people lurking... More

We are sorry your credit card was declined upon check in & your frustration with your personal finances & well being. Wal-green is .1 mile from the motel or 1/4 of a physical block or 2 min's. Customer was frustrated with personal issues. On lighter note, customer had staff take a photo of him & raved how clean an fun... More

My wife and I recently stayed here for something different as we were heading to Las Vegas the next day after flying in from Australia. It was great. Hey if you're looking for something different and a bit of old charm, this is worth the stop off. It's not the sort of place you would stay for any length of... More

We arrived after dark (after 11pm) and the surrounding neighborhood is a little sketchy, but not too bad. This was one of my favorite hotels on our southwest US roadtrip and it was one of the requirements that I insisted on doing to add a funky roadtrip nostalgia/Americana aspect to our trip. The interior of the wig wam is big... More

We arrived here early for check in, and even though we disturbed the awesome Kumar,s lunch, we were greeted like old friends. On went the route 66 song while checking us in . he filled our heads with more information than we could handle, checked out our itinerary which he seemed impressed with then told us where to find wigwam #17.... We were surprised at the size of the room inside the tepee. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The manager was extremely helpful and nothing was a problem for him. Staying in a wigwam is something everyone doing Route 66 must do and tick off the bucket list

When we started planning our Chicago to Los Angeles Route 66 trip the California Wigwam Hotel was the one place we knew we wanted to stay. While making our reservation the owner gave us recommendations of places to stay along the way. Those recommendations turned our vacation into the trip of lifetime. Not only does Kumar have a great place... More

We (Mom, Dad, 13 yr old) stayed for a night while on a road trip from Northern Alberta. Kumar is a great host. He was very personable and seemed to really enjoy getting to know the guests. The night we stayed (July 3), he got a campfire going for the guests, complete with smores and fireworks. Our wigwam was clean,... More

Been wanting to stay here for years and finally was able to find a vacant teepee on a Thursday. I've been taken back to my childhood and the road trips we took across the U.S., staying in roadside motor inns! The manager, Kumar, is a Route 66 "junkie." Ask him about his trips. Wigwams/Teepees are small, but very clean and... More
