I took their B&B training course and was blown away! It's a week long course in which I assisted the owners Bill and Karen with their daily activities in running a B&B. Both were incredibly knowledgeable and so personable! The food was amazing, the atmosphere was great, and the owners very hospitable! I stayed in the Safari room which was... More

Hi Nick. Thanks for the stellar review. We're glad you enjoyed your stay and that you found what we had to offer beneficial. You were a pleasure to work with. Hopefully it won't be long before you run your own establishment and can offer the same experience to someone else. Good luck in your venture and please stay in touch.... More

We found this great Bed & Breakfast (Robin's Nest) in a historic Queen Ann Victorian Mansion in old town of San Andreas that is listed in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) -http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_J._Snyder_House. The owners, Bill & Karen, told us that this house was vacant for 39 years because people thought it was haunted. Our room, Cirque, was in... More

Thank you for such a nice review. I need to apologize if I gave the impression that I'm a gourmet chef because I have absolutely no formal cooking training. I do admit that I take some pride in being able to meet the needs of the great majority of our customers, including those with restrictive diets. More

This is a very nice place to stay in the California Gold Country. It's a beautiful old house that is maintained and decorated with great love and attention by the very welcoming and generous hosts. The rooms are large and comfortable, and most have a theme reflected in style and artefacts. While certainly a little kitschy (I would not necessarily... More

Thank you for the wonderful review. Kitschy is a pretty accurate description of the overall décor. Our kids call it Gaudy and we correct them by telling them it's "Gaudy-Chic". And yes, with the exception of Pizza, basic Mexican, basic Chinese and a couple of Diners, the choice of quality restaurants is meager. However, there are many quality dining facilities... More

We must be the only people who benefited from the shut down in October! The reason being was that our plans had to be rearranged and we changed to San Andreas "Gold Country" and came across Robins Nest. We'd booked our 'once in a lifetime' road trip through an agent and we had the choice to rearrange our planned Yosemite... More

Thank you for such a brilliant review. We're delighted that California's Gold Country met with your approval and that you consider us and the Robin's Nest an integral part of it. Send more "Brits" our way as they're always a pleasure! More

The Robins Nest is a wonderful, comfortable, charming place to hang out for a couple of days. Karen and Bill made us feel right at home and we enjoyed exploring every bit of their beautiful property. The location made it easy for us to take day trips to Sutter Creek, Jackson, Murphy's, Columbia, Angels Camp and Sonora. We even saw... More

Thanks for taking the time to write a review and pointing out that we are centrally suited to the County's many attractions. While the Turkeys visit in the daytime, we also get visits from Raccoons, Possums, Foxes, Deer and occasionally Coyote after Dusk. This year we have a pair of nesting Red Hawks which doesn't seem to be a deterrent... More

We loved this place. Lots of old world charm, Karen and Bill make fantastic hosts who work hard to make sure that all guests have a memorable stay. We slept well in themed safari room. Breakfast was scrumptious, perfect, even with me being a celiac, Karen made sure that I had gluten free food . The house and gardens are... More

Like every other guest we've had from "Down-Under" you folks were a pleasure to have as guests. And finding non-gluten alternatives to our regular fare isn't a chore when it's done for serious health issues rather than a fad diet. Please send more Aussies our way. More

My wife and I stayed two nights with Karen and Bill after reading about Robin's Nest on TripAdvisor. All the reviews about the amazing breakfasts and the wonderful owners were correct.. this is a fantastic place to stay! Loved this place. It has personality, easy access, great breakfast and be sure to explore the very surprisingly wonderful historic museum downtown. We arrived in San Andreas and used Tripadviser to find the nearest hotels - absolutely brilliant tool and one we used a great deal on our recent trip to the states. Thank you so much for your positive review. We're glad to hear you not only enjoyed our breakfast but even though we serve several courses, they didn't over-fill you. Unfortunately your speculation about in-town dining is generous to say the least. We have a fabulous Deli called the Pickle-Patch but it is only open midweek and only for lunch. Otherwise... More

We found this on the Internet, lucky us. This is a wonderfully redressed Victorian. Warm, modern heating, but a lot of its old charm. A Beautiful Bed and Breakfeast.
