I spent a week here while I completed a paramotor course. The place was very clean, comfortable and a delight to stay at. I stayed in the safari room which had its own private patio. Smoking was allowed outside of course! The owners were super, very friendly but not intrusive. They have a couple of friendly cats and a dog... More

Karen is a wonderful innkeeper loves her work and it's obvious in the care she takes with her guests. We stayed for 5 days while visiting family in San Andreas and she helped make our stay special. If you stop make sure you try the Pickle Patch just down the street for lunch and take a tour of both Historical... More

Thank you for the nice review. I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay. I wish Bill hadn't been so busy working off-site so that you could have gotten to know him as well. We're fortunate to have 2 great places to eat in town: the Pickle Patch and El Mezcal. And of course there are great places to eat in... More

We originally booked the Mariner room, but because we travel with our dog Kimo we took the Safari room instead and it was perfect. Bill and Karen make you feel like part of the family. The hotel is centrally located to everything we wanted to do/see. The suggestions of our hosts for entertainment were right on from hiking to shopping... More

Thanks for the flattering review and for understanding the impact the severe water restrictions have on the property. It was a pleasure meeting you and Kimo, your McKenzie River Husky. What a gorgeous, well-behaved animal. Look forward to seeing you again in the not too distant future. More

I don't have enough words to describe how great Robin's Nest is. My wife and I stayed there after reading the great reviews on TripAdvisor. Our hosts Karen and Bill were just outstanding folks, and learning about their journey from Canada to California was so interesting. Our room, Soleil, was beautifully decorated and conveniently on the the first floor. Karen... More

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review and thank you again for the glowing compliments. We appreciate that you overlooked the fact that we are on draught-related water restrictions and consequently many of our lawns and gardens have turned brown and even those that are watered are struggling. Plus the fact that the exterior is... More

This lovely Historic Registry Queen's Anne Cottage offers quiet rooms, period decor and wonderful conversation and food at the breakfast table. The beds are comfortable, the lighting options are great, the rooms are all very clean, and they have a refrigerator full of bottled water, an essential in dry hot California summers. There are lovely gardens, a place to eat... More

We love this place---certainly the best place to stay when exploring Northern California's Gold Country and Amador Wine Country. Bill and Karen are warm and gracious hosts and very knowledgeable of the area---restaurants and fun places to explore. They make you feel very welcome and really don't miss a beat. The Inn is stunning---cozy and comfortable with something new to... More

Wow: Thank you for that fabulous review. I am happy that our positives outweigh the negatives so much that you overlooked them. The fact that you have a background in hotels/lodging makes the review especially meaningful. And thank you for your suggestions regarding the shower bases. I will be tackling the first one this coming week and will give you... More

I have been staying regularly at Robin's Nest here in San Andreas for over a year. Bill and Karen are wonderful hosts and Bill, who does the breakfasts, is a good and innovative chef. He has accomodated my vegetarian diet with no difficulty and created several wonderful meals, including Eggs Benedict and what he called a wafflet ( cross between... More

We absolutely enjoyed our two days there. Bill and Karen are fabulous hosts and have done wonders in keeping the victorian house in good shape and decorated to the era. The breakfasts were excellent - our favorite being the fruit soup. There was plenty to do during the day in the area, and we looked forward to returning to the... More

Karen and Bill are a charming couple, but the upkeep of this 9 room Inn is tasking. The old Victorian is charming, but dusty with cobwebs and needs refreshing. I am not a fan of dolls, collectible plates, snow globes and cherubs perched on every surface and antique. Removing the clutter would allow the architecture and high ceilings of this... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and being so forthright. Yes, a 5,000 sq.ft. old Victorian mansion is a bit of housekeeping challenge, especially the cobwebs that seem to re-appear almost as soon as you're finished removing them. There is no doubt that because the two of us do all the work that we sometimes miss... More

The B&B is a delight, there is not much in San Andreas, we attended a PAWs event and decided to stay a night or two to relax, but it is a useful stopping place from which to explore the area. The Inn is a beautifully restored Tudor House on the Main road in San Andreas (you enter from the back),... More

Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed and positive review. I think it's important to point out that while some of our guest rooms are small by modern standards, others are quite large. I would venture that 3 would be considered relatively small and 3 larger than average. The décor is also not our personal first... More
